Agree with OneAndDone- North Myrtle is much better. We stayed there at the Seawatch Resort. Perfect for all ages. It has two towers of beachfront condos. Each tower has it's own pool complex (but you can use both of them), one is more of a party atmosphere and the other is quieter. Both have pools, hot tubs and a lazy river.

There is a restaurant on the property, they offer really fun kids camps and the beach is just steps away. (I recommend splurging for beach service. It gets crowded!)

The location is great, it's in a more residential area and there is a super Walmart less than 10 minutes away. Do your shopping for the week and settle in.

Have fun!

Stay in North Myrtle--it's nicer.
We have always enjoyed Ocean Creek Resort. An older resort, but affordable and SUCH a handy location, we rarely used the car!

We have stayed at the Island Vista Resort and loved it! Lazy iver, 3 pools, restaurant on site and the also have kids camps and nightly entertainment.

Ditto those who say North Myrtle rather than Myrtle. Myrtle Beach is full of teenagers and North Myrtle is for families.

Make sure you take them to Ripley's Believe it or Not Aquarium!

We are going next week for dance and staying at the Breakers. Not at all affordable in my book, but I can tell you how it is when we get back if you remind me!

I'm going to echo everyone else. North Myrtle Beach is amazing. We go there every year because it is so family friendly. The farther up you stay the quieter the beaches are. We stayed at the very end of the Cherry Grove section last year and shared the beach with maybe 15-20 other people the whole week. We stayed at Ocean View Villas last year, which wasn't a resort, just a cluster of condos, but it was great. This year we are staying closer to the pier at Paradise Pointe and I'm really excited! Counting down the days!!

We stayed at the Sea Crest Resort. My kids ages at the time were 8, 7, 5, and 5 mos. They LOVED IT! We were close enough to walk to most places such as the Ripley's Museum, the Sky Wheel, restaraunts etc..

We stayed on the Ocean Front side.
