Spin off from my first question and I am curious. Before marriage I was a take a nap type of woman on the weekends. Call it what ever you want lazy ect.....

Add a husband and 3 children (non toddlers) my naps are long gone. I remember our first year of marriage I took a vacation off of work durning the school year and all we did was hang out around the city and took naps at home. That was the best IMO!

I miss my naps! With your busy life are you able to take naps?

What can I do next?

Naps? Ha! I'm lucky to get my full time job, mom chores, kid cuddling, gardening, keeping up with friends, bonding with hubby, and other mandatory things done on a regular basis.

My husband is some kind of wonderful. I went through about 5 years of no naps, when they were really young. But now he makes sure they leave me alone so I can nap. I used to feel guilty, but I think he understands how important it is. We all need what we need. He needs 3 hours of tv at night after everyone goes to bed. I need one 2 hour nap on the weekends.

Bwahahahaha! NO!!!
In the 9 years of my child's existence, I've had about 5 naps--probably 3 of them in the last year!

I love naps. The past two weekends, I've been konking out when DS goes down, after about an hour, I wake up and get some food, then back to sleep some more until he or I wake up. Hubs supports my napping.

Life is good. Life is better with naps.

Um, no.
2 parents + 2 full time jobs + 2 small kids does not = nap.
I don't crave a nap but I do miss the days I could read a novel in a couple days because I could spend hours at a time on a couch reading.

I have always been a napper & it's not because I'm lazy, it's because I need sleep, just like everyone else! I don't get 8 hours a night like I need during the week because I get up at 5a.m. M-F &, as pretty much any mom will tell you, a 9p.m. bedtime doesn't work for me. I make up for it on the weekends.

When my kids were small & took naps themselves, that's when I slept. When they got a little older, we had mandatory "quiet time" for an hour or so on weekends where I would put a Disney movie on for them & lay on the couch with them & kind of doze. Now that they're older, they're capable of taking care of themselves while I sleep. Sometimes it's an hour, sometimes, like last Sunday, I went upstairs at 1:30 in the afternoon to read, fell asleep after some "grown-up time" with my husband & woke up at 5:45. I normally never sleep that long during the day, but I obviously needed it!

I wish! I would LOVE a nap. Occasionally, I will get a few minutes on a weekend, if my daughter naps or if my mom is visiting.

After going into menopause and being very sick for many months a couple of years ago, I have trouble sleeping through the night. What I found is that if I nap, I set myself up for more sleep problems. I would much rather sleep at night than take a nap during the day and lay awake in the middle of the night. So no naps for me!

I do miss good night sleep and naps, I really do!

Yes.. I try to get naps.

When our daughter was young and she was fighting naps.. I would have her read to me for nap.. She would get a pile of books and "read".. later she really could read and so she would read to me.. usually she would also pass out next to me in the cooled down quite room..

Then as she got older and refused nap.. I would tell her I was going to take a nap.. She would watch a video or play quietly or read.. while I slept.

My family has learned.. If I take a nap. things go a lot smoother around here..

Hahahahahaahah! The only time I get a nap is when I accidentally pass out in my son's bed while putting him to sleep, because I am so exhausted from the day. I get maybe 5 hours of sleep a night, 7 on weekends if I'm lucky.

Since becoming an actual adult, I have found that most days are not long enough for a nap. The rare Sunday afternoon nap perhaps, but that's a rarity. Usually I feel groggy and useless after any kind of nap anyway. So I don't want to take a nap.

I wish there was a way to type a raspberry sound. But no, I just don't have time, plus I always feel worse when I wake up. I think naps are for lazy people, who should do their sleeping at night.
