Is the Windex window cleaner worth it? It looks great on the commercials, but I don't want to waste the money if I'd do better just hand washing each window.

What can I do next?

Vinegar water is better!!! and much cheaper. I have replaced almost all my cleaners with natural agents. Much cheaper, and healthier.

Are you talking about the kind you attach to your garden hose and spray on the windows? If so, I tried it 6 years ago and thought it was just okay (some streaks, etc.) However...that was a long time ago, and those corporations make product improvements every year. I'll bet it's vastly improved. I've always thought that nothing compares to hand washing...but who can find time for that? Good luck!

PS...If you try it, can you let me know how it turns out?

I like to use the Method brand from Target. It is great and environmental friendly. It also has a nice mint scent.

V.,
I prefer Shaklee's Basic H. One drop in 16 oz of water makes a great window cleaner. One half teaspoon makes an all purpose cleaner. It is safe and save thousands of bottle from being thrown in a landfill.
Oprah has featured Shaklee's Get Clean products on her show several times and they are used in both the White House and the VP's residence.

Windex works wonderful, but it is really a harsh smelling chemical.
Go online and research side effects from windex.

I wish you the best.

I have used Windex on my mirriors and windows for years. It works great. Plus they now have a natural Windex if you are freaked out about chemicals.

I love my Melaleuca window cleaner. I like knowing that it is eco friendly and safe for my kids and pets. I recently read in a Sprouts magazine about the hazardous chemicals we have in our everyday cleaning products. The article made me even more glad that I switched.

I find that washing windows and mirrors with soap and water to be very good, sometimes the substance on the glass is just too much for a spray to get off. I clean house for my FIL who smokes. He has a very large mirror in the living room and it gets covered with nicotine. I clean it and clean it but it still looks cloudy. When I wash it with soap and water it sparkles. But I am telling you now that my time is worth money and it takes me about 15 minutes to clean all the mirrors, pictures, microwave front, stove top, counter tops, sinks, etc...with a spray bottle of windex. It takes me about 20 minutes to clean the mirror in the living room. Every other surface inthe house does fine with Windex.

And I will also say that you get what you pay for as far as buying a name brand in window cleaner. I have tried Wal-Mart brand, Dollar Store brand, etc...and they are not even as good as just using water.

I only use Windex Professional or Regular Windex.
