Wii and Wii Fit

Okay - I don't even own a Wii, but I really want to do the Wii Fit. Does anyone have this? Like it? Dislike it? Starting next week, I'm going to be home with my baby and I'd like to get into a good routine of working out - to feel good and to tighten up some pregnancy curves. I was thinking the Wii Fit would be a good option.
Also - if you at least just own a Wii - do you like it? If we bought the Wii and Wii Fit, we'd probably use it for other games too. My husband is a youth minister so the kids always want to play Halo (xbox), but I won't allow that in my house (no M ratings), so I was thinking they may enjoy the Wii with all the fun sports things it offers.
What do you think?
Thanks!!

What can I do next?

We've had our Wii about a year now and of ALL the things we have around here, it is the 1 thing that all of the teens keep playing. My husband and I enjoy it as well.

I have 1 daughter (13) and always alot of guests here. They are always doing something on the Wii. Wii also has a function on it which will play your Game cube games which makes our Gamecube non-existant right now and gathering dust.

The Wii games we have are the basic first package with sports. LOVE it....we play as a family and Yes you work out when you are boxing, playing baseball, tennis, golf and bowling. The other games she has a Mario games. The Guitar Hero is also a hit with the kiddos here.

If/when you buy one, get a couple extra remotes. I think we have a total of 4 wireless remotes. Boxing requires another remote of some sort so make sure you get that too. We have it in a game room on a big Dell 46" Plasma TV. Things can get wild and fun so I do have to remind the girls to watch what they are hitting. I've had one get so into her game she scraped the top of the Dell (ouch) but the screen was not touched.

The Wii Fit is on our list of things to get next but in all honesty, we've had so much fun with the sport package, I know we are keeping in shape with that too.

Enjoy

We just got our wii and my son loves it! As does my husband! ;) I really want to get the Wii Fit. Out of all the gaming systems, I think the Wii is the best option because it keeps the kids active and there are more family friendly games instead of so much violence and mature games that go with the Xbox and Play Stations and such.

We have the wii and LOVE it!! The sports, etc...I'm like you, don't like the violent games, etc. I'm anxious to try out the wii fit too!! Can't wait to hear responses! I would definitely recommend getting the wii. Both my 11 and 4 yr old daughters love it and can play it. My husband and I enjoy it too!

I own a Wii and absolutely LOVE it. Very much worth the money. And we are in the process of trying to locate the Wii Fit game as its been sold out where we've checked so far. I highly recommend it though, the games it offers are much better than most of the inappropriate ones for children nowadays. Hope this helps you.

My son is right next to me playing as I type...lol...We LOVE it....my son gets a work out playing the sports games and after he's in bed my hubby and I stay up and compete....We have around 10 games (fishing, AMF Bowling, Pokemon, Bee Movie, etc.)and I have to say that he plays the WiiSports the most and that comes WITH the console..so don't worry about buying a bunch of different games to go with it right away as they do run about $50 a piece....it's TONS of fun....I HIGHLY recommend it!!!!! I also want the Wii Fit and had planned on buying it but it is sold out at the places around where I live...good luck to you...Have fun!!!!

We have a Wii and had a lot of fun using it when we first purchased it. To be honest, it now sits unused and we are thinking of selling it on Ebay. I think if we had older kids or kids from a youth ministry to come over and use it, it would be a great game system. If you are interested in paying less for it, let me know. We have the basic package, an extra remote, and some games. It was used so little that it's practically new. I hope my message doesn't discourage you from getting one.
