We've got one & our three year old likes to play with her big sister. She does play the Dora games with minimal help, but not enough that I would have spent the money on the system just for her.
I am wanting to buy a Wii this Christmas for my family. My husband is not so sure. We have a 3 1/2 year old son who played with grandma's wii over Thanksgiving and loved it. (Grandma lives in Missouri, so we can't just go there and play whenever we want)
Does anyone have one with a 3-4 year old? How has it worked out? Are there many games out there that they can play independently? (He won't want me to help him.)
I appreciate any recommendations on whether to buy one or to wait... Thanks :-)

We have a Wii and so far our 4 year old has had alot of trouble being able to play it by himself. I have not bought any games specifically for him though. We rented the Toy Story Mania game and he liked that really well but still needed help. The Wii was bought for me so we let him play it every once and awhile but I would not buy it specifically for him yet. He has the Leapster handheld game system and he loves that and has been able to play all of those games with no help. Good Luck to you! Merry Christmas!
We have a Wii and my 4 year old loves it. He is amazingly good at the games (much better than I thought he would be) and with minimal to no help can play several games. He loves the Super Mario games, Mario cart, and Smash blocks. There are lots of family friendly games for the system that are multiplayer. To find some games he likes we went to the video store and rented them first before buying and that seemed to help as far as picking games. They have come out with a 4 player Mario game as well where you can play all 4 at the same time. We have a lot of fun with ours.
Our son is 4. At three he had a real interest in the Wii but became frustrated because he couldn't do it "all by himself". Then we found the Diego games (Safari Rescue and Great Dinosaur Rescue). These games were fun for him to play. There are pictures that pop up in the corner to show you what to do. He could do these games all by himself. My only complaint is that the main game is one player, so he couldn't play with us or friends. There are racing style games that can be played with two players. And after playing the Diego games and getting more comfortable we found other games he could handle (Playground, race car games and if we put it on the All Play Mode even the Tiger Woods Golf game).
