So, I know this may be strange but I am curious about it. I am 13 wks along and when I pee there is no pressure behind it. I can have to go soooooooooooooooooo bad, but it just trickles out. I don't think my baby is big enough to be causing tons of pressure on my bladder so I find this odd. I don't remember this from my previous two pregnancies, but I have been raising small children for several years now...so, who knows! Anyway, anybody know if this is a normal thing, especially so early? I am going for a check up tomorrow, so I am going to mention it, if I remember!! Thanks for any input....

What can I do next?

YES, I am 28 weeks along and have had this problem the entire time, usually in the mornings. This is also my 3rd pregnancy and I have noticed it more with this pregnancy.

Is there a chance that it could be a UTI? Are there any other symptoms?

Sounds normal. You feel like you have to pee because baby is on your bladder, but then you have to work at it to actually go. In 2 weeks, you'll just have to pee all the time! Then it will change again until the last few weeks... peeing constantly ;) Every pregnancy is different!

Consider the fact that your blood volume is increasing and the size of your uterus is increasing. The baby is tiny right now, so no, the baby itself is not going to put pressure on your other organs or your bladder but your uterus will as it grows. And your uterus is already growing. Plus having already had children, there's new stress on top of an old stress on your kidneys, liver, bladder, and pelvic muscles.

It's all normal, but you should talk to your OB about it in case she wants you to talk to a urologist or she wants to test you for a UTI/bladder infection. Pregnancy can put you at a higher risk for UTI/bladder infection so it's worth getting a quick test for that in the OB's office and ask them to send out a urine sample as well.

I honestly did this every time I went to the bathroom during my third pregnancy...I would sit and urinate, then I would stand up and sit back down again and go some more...I don't know if it Really helped, but it felt like I always needed to go and there was never a lot...

You might have a bladder infection and not know it.

I had this issue on my last pregnancy at about the same time (I just delivered in Dec.).

I went to the Dr. She ran a test on my urine and I had a bladder infection. I was stunned b/c I had had one before when I was not pregnant and it was painful.

She said that a lot of pregnant women do not even know they have one. She says it is common b/c the pregnant woman just thinks it is frequent urination due to the pregnancy. She immediately put me on antibiotics. It can be dangerous to have one in the first trimester so please be sure to mention it to your Dr.

I believe you are just experiencing "frequent urination"; the urge to pee when bladder is not full. Its an early preg symptom and I believe the purpose behind it is to prevent UTI which can be harmful in early pregnancy. Don't quote me on that last part, I think I remember my RN sister telling me that when I had frequent urination.

ask your OB -- your pelvic organs could be lax from prior pregnancies and blocking your urethra or putting pressure on part of your bladder. Get doing those Kegal exercises daily! I didn't really have any problems with peeing until I got much further along in my 3rd pregnancy (like 32 weeks...am currently almost 39). Now I have the trickle problem :) Good luck!

I had a stricture (kink) in my urethra that caused that symptom but I also felt like I always had to go to the bathroom. Turns out I did because my bladder was unable to fully empty. It was a quick 5 minute procedure to fix it. The urologist numbed me then stretched the urethra.
