Naot. I have wide miserable feet. They are the best. Expensive but last forever. Worth the investment.
For years I have been loyal to Keen, because my feet run a bit on the wider side and their shoes were great. That said, they have stopped making wider women's shoes and after two returns (even the whole half-size larger was too small), I'm looking for advice.Does anyone know who makes shoes that offer the following:
Good arch support
Runs a little wide
Cute without being too trendy
Sturdy for lots of walking
Negative heel, if possible. (Nothing higher than an inch on the heel)
$100 or less.
Any suggestions?
Since I've been asked, no, not for a professional job, just something a little nicer for walking around town (not power walking) in. Preferrably a slip-on.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions...
Yes, Marda, I love the Clogs and More on Broadway, however, my feet are bit too wide for Dansko and other brands they sell to fit comfortably. I do drool, though, when I go in there... we may try the Shoe Mill or Walking Company as well as REI.

I was positive I had the perfect shoe until I got to "$100 or less'" lol. Honestly, Dansko usually runs wide with a good arch support and a fairly high instep. They are priced a little higher than some but last forever, usually anywhere from $90 to $175. Check out thewalkingcompany.com or visit one of their stores. They carry primarily good walking shoes.

Have you looked at Zappo's? They certainly have a variety of shoes, sizes, and widths. I have the opposite situation - my foot is skinny. Zappo's is where I have to go first, because the stores just don't have anything. It's worth a peek.
Dansko? I have lots of their shoes and sandals and can walk forever in them. You can find them pretty cheap at 6pm.com and sometimes at Nordstrom Rack. Crocs also makes some pretty cute leather shoes now.
Paul Green, Mephisto, and Romiko are comfortable too, but you have to keep an eye open for clearance prices at Nordstrom Rack for those. Born shoes are pretty cute, comfortable and affordable too. Good luck!
I've seen wide widths at The Shoe Mill in the Loyd Center. The Shoe Mill has always had clearance racks when I've been in. There are a couple of shoe stores on Broadway around 14h or so that sell the European brands others have mentioned. I've found that even tho they are expensive (over $100) they are very well made and last longer than less expensive shoes.
Nordstrom use to make their own brand, but they were pretty basic. I have great luck with Payless for shoes that I don't wear that often. Naturalizer also makes wide shoes, but you have to be careful, a lot of their shoes look "grandma" like, but the do have some cute ones too. I have a wide foot too and I found that Marc Fisher (I only found at Macy's) has a wider toe box and I can go up 1/2 size and be fine. I also have a pair of Moda's (found at DSW) that have a wider toe box that I can wear a medium width.
I go to www.avenue.com, www.torrid.com, and www.payless.com for my shoes - I wear a 13W in women's
For walking shoes, I like Ryka (made especially based on a woman's foot) and Skechers. They both make wide width and usually can find a sale. My foot always measures a medium width but regular shoes don't fit so I get the wide width.
I've found some nice flats at Bass outlets. You may also want to try Zappo's, as they carry a large variety of brands and sizes.

I have their sneaker The Prosper and they are very comfortable!
It's slightly over $100 but you might be able to search the name on Google and find some on sale.
This place has some other models on sale:
Might want to try Sketchers Go Walk shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes ever. I have a wide foot too and they fit in the normal width, they also fit true to size in length. I am going to buy a couple more pairs. You can get them on Amazon, Sears, J. C. Penneys, Kohls for around $50.
I just bought a pair of Clarks in wide width that I love. They fit true to size, even in wide width. Usually when I buy wide width, they have a tendency to be too wide. I'm kind of in between medium width and wide. I have a 3/4 mile of a walk into work (uphill), and these just fit that need perfectly. And they're cute, but not over the top. :)

I have also had good luck with Aerosoles brand. A little more fashion forward, which I love, and comfortable/functional. The wide width is just perfect for me. I get tons of compliments on my peep toes in this brand.

What kind of activity are you looking to do while wearing this shoe? Are you looking for a walking shoe or something to wear to the office? Anything that specialized--plus quality--will NOT cost less than $100.
I, too, recommend Zappos to start. Their Custome Service team is very helpful, too. You can also google what you're looking for. (That's how I found a place to buy my bras.)
i get my new balance w801 mule sneakers from zappos. i wear them every day. they are on sale right now for $50ish but are out of 8W in the colors i want (of course) :(
i usually throw in a pair of arch supports to prevent worsening my bunion but they are comfy without.
Sketchers Go Walks are my new favorites. I think they will meet your criteria. They are very lightweight, perhaps a bit light for winter weather but otherwise amazing.
