It really could be quite simple. It could be as simple as trying to adjust to all of the excitement of the holidays. They do grow a lot around that age. Keep an eye on her.
Last night my 18 month old went to bed a little later than usual, it was about 9:30pm. She is always in bed at 7:30pm but we were visiting family last night and got home late. She slept and slept and slept some more today, finally at 1:00pm I woke her up so she could eat lunch with us. She slept for 15 1/2 hours last night! Well after lunch we played and then at 4:00pm she asked to go "night night" so she was only awake 3 hours before she napped, she is still napping. She didn't have a fever when I woke her up this morning, so I don't think she is getting sick. Maybe I am just being a worry wart, hopefully it's nothing.
Well after sleeping for 15 1/2 hours at night, she then took a 3 hour nap only 3 hours after she woke up. Picked at her dinner and acted "sick" so back to bed she went. She woke up this morning as if yesterday had never happened! Guess she was just super tired! Thank you all.

I would keep a close eye on her just to make sure she isn't coming down with something. The only time my daughter has slept that much was when she was sick.
She could very well just be going through a growth spurt too.
Could be she is tired because her tiny body is going through a growth spurt and it is tiring her out. If it continues, I would call the doctor just to be on the safe side.
One time my daughter went to bed at 7 pm, and did not wake up until noon the next day - she was fine. I would agree it could be a growth spurt, or coming down with something, or she's just catching up on a sleep deficit. I would just watch her, but it's probably nothing.
All of my kids have done this especially during the colder months...and they grow more during the colder months than the warmer months.
M.
My son does that... when he is hitting a growth-spurt.
Or, is getting sick....
.
maybe a growth spurt, coming down with something, or fighting something off.
Keep an eye on her and make sure she still takes fluid.
It sounds like someone is growing! I wouldn't worry one bit. :)
My kids only slept like that when they were sick.
I would keep an eye on her . . .
sometimes they sleep more when going through a growth spurt. She may sleep like this a day or 2 then back to normal. If this goes longer than a week then I would start to worry. She may just be tired from all the extra holiday activity.
