Why Is It That When You Buy Shampoo and Conditioner I Can Never Finish Them At..

the same time?

It seems like I run out of my conditioner this time around so next time I carefully watch how much I am using and then end up running out of the shampoo first the next time around.

I know who cares, hehe, but it just always seems to me that I can never finish the same size bottles at the same time.

Anyone else have this problem?

What can I do next?

Well, I think that's why they come in seperate bottles :) I don't condition my hair everyday, and the amount of conditioner I use is significantly less than the amount of shampoo I use, so it makes sense that the shampoo would run out faster. My bigger problem seems to be that I can't wait to totally finish a shampoo before getting a new one started, and I end up with tons of partial bottles hanging out in my shower, lol.

It's a brilliant marketing scheme to be sure you keep buying the same product!

Same thing as hot dogs coming 6 to a pack and buns 8 to a pack, or some variation thereof!

It's on purpose!

LOL I've wondered the same thing. I try so hard to use the same amount each time and I always use up the shampoo first. This mystery goes along with the other mystery of where does the other sock go.

Like Molly, we use two bottles of conditioner per one bottle of shampoo. We don't need huge handfuls of shampoo to get a clean head but my daughter has waist length hair that needs much more conditioner than I do. I find it much easier to buy it that way so I have it available.

We figured out a fix for this perplexing issue... :-) Those soap dispensers that you can get from bed bath and beyond are AWESOME!!! We go thru 1/4 the amount of soap and conditioner that we did before... And with 6 people who arn't bald... It adds up quick. You know that you get 5 squirts of each and there is no huge puddle dripping off your childs hand as they stare into the creamy color swirls in the soap. lol We have a 4 section dispenser (daddy shampoo, mommy shampoo, conditioner, and kids tearless shampoo/conditioner)...
No more 1/2 used up bottles sitting around, no more "I wanted a different kind so I opened a NEW bottle and now we have 2 bottles on the tub", no more having soap on your hands then dropping the bottle while trying to close it... lol

Yes! I always have that problem... and I always seem to run out of shampoo first. So I use my left over conditioner for shaving cream, its great on your skin and those womanly areas and of course it gets rid of that left over conditioner! But I like Beth's Idea too!! Good Luck Momma!

Conditioner is often more thick than shampoo so you use less. It may look like the same amount in your hand, but its not. lol.

I usually just buy a normal size shampoo, then a giant size conditioner. :)

Yes, it's one of the great mysteries of life, along with where did that other sock go? why are there 6 hot dogs, but 8 hot dog buns? why does the grill run out of gas 5 minutes into the party? and finally, who ate that last slice of leftover pizza?

I hear ya. I never finish the bottles at the same time. Ever. I feel that if I ever do finish them at the same time the world just might come to an end. My husband thinks I should just find an all-in-one shampoo and conditioner variety. Probably not happening.

YES! it makes me crazy for some reason... I think there is a government conspiracy. ;) lol.
What usually happens to me next is I go to replace the one I am out of and then, they don't have it anymore or changed it somehow so then i have to buy both instead of just the one I am out of because I am OCD like that and they have to match. lol.... thanks for making me laugh today.

This is sort of 'off topic' but I find that I can make my Conditioner last longer if I use a wide tooth comb once I have let the conditioner do its job. If you take a small(er) amount of conditioner and work it thru bit by bit and then use the comb to disburse it thru the rest of your hair it works wonders. Plus it pulls a bunch of conditioner out of your hair as you comb thru it that can be reused on the parts that feel like they need a bit more time and TLC.
Use a wide tooth comb though because your hair is much more fragile when it is wet
Good Luck
