The hair on my head fell out postpartum, but not my eyebrows and eyelashes. Yes, have your thyroid checked.
My eyebrows and eyelashes have been steadily falling out daily since my last trimester and I am now five months postpartum. The hairs grow back but more always fall out. I'm talking 2-10 hairs a day. Other than that I have no signs or conditions that would point to a medical problem. I have seen other questions on the web similar to mine but never someone who's been through it themselves! Please tell me this will stop soon. No one notices...but it really annoys me!
Thanks for the answers. Seems like half say it could just be normal postpartum hormones sorting out, others say I need to get my thyroid checked ASAP. Since it's been bugging me so much I scheduled an appointment with my doctor for later this month. Either way I hope this ends soon! ☺️

Have your thyroid checked.
Your thyroid function can change after pregnancy and it can mess with how well your hair/nails grow.
Have you mentioned this to your doctor? Something going on this long merits medical attention. Thyroid is one possible answer but probably other causes could be at play. This is not a good time for using the internet. Start with your primary care provider and see if preliminary tests indicate that you should see someone else, such as an endocrinologist. But basic blood work including TSH levels (thyroid) and other standard tests should give you some ideas and rule out other things. Not sure why you are waiting on this.
probably just hormonal and will sort itself out soon. but yeah, aggravating.
if it continues, run it by your doctor. your thyroid may be out of wonk.
but i'm betting it's just postpartum.

It's a hormonal change. I was thrilled when my thick hair started falling out at that point. It was the best it ever looked, finally laying flat. However, had it been my already sparse eyelashes and eyebrows, I would not have been so happy. The bad news for me at the time, but good news for you is that it lasts a short period of time. Your body will reset to something more normal soon. By a year post-partum, my hair was back to looking like a pumpkin.
