Signed an editor yesterday! Now I have an August 13th deadline to get this book finished and edited to the best of my ability. Time to buckle down. So what am I doing? Playing on Mamapedia.

Getting a little nervous, we are in the middle of negotiations on a house, working on financing, my in laws are coming for two weeks in July and last night my BIL informed me that he is trying to surprise my sister with a visit here sometime in May. Gonna need some stress busters. I am probably going to gain like 40 lbs because I am a stress eater. :) How do you guys unwind.

What can I do next?

10 push-ups.

10 is easy. You don't have to change clothes. No tennis shoes to put on. No kids to arrange care for. It's the perfect 'reset button' when you can't get out for a walk.

Just walk to an empty room, drop and gimme 10. :)

When you get on Mamapedia, set a timer, and get off it when you hear the beep. This site, bless its heart, is a time-eater!

Remember, you do books, houses, and most everything else just the way you eat an elephant - one bite at a time. Put some work in on your book every day (or at least five days a week). When your company comes, shut yourself away to work for a little while. Let your visitors know that you'll be doing this.

When you get stressed, when you get mentally fatigued from your work, or even when you just take a break from sitting at your computer, drink some water, and then take a walk! Not a stroll - a vigorous walk. Believe me, it'll get rid of some of the stress and it will help you have more energy. You can also throw in a load of laundry, weed the flower bed - anything that makes your *body* work. That gives your *brain* a break to refresh itself.

I'm a stress eater, too, and I just can't have my comfort food in the house at all.

Hope this helps a bit. And congratulations!

10-20 minutes of exercise daily followed by a nice hot bubblebath with relaxing music or sounds of nature on the CD player.

Congrats and good luck with the book.

Sounds like this is POSITIVE stress :-). But stress nonetheless.

When in doubt, get physical. Exercise releases stress and replaces it with endorphins, those feel-good chemicals. Yay!

I always feel so much better after a workout. After a really bad day yesterday, I went for a 4-mile run today and am on a great high!

I go for a walk. Instead of eating I walk to curb stress. If I can't walk, I try jumping jacks or jumping rope. It really helps clear the mind and exert the energy stress can bring to my body.

If I really must eat to curb my stress I go after crunchy things like carrots, apples or celery.

I liked all of the answers, but I have one more, Massage! I found a great one that is not too expensive. 1/2 hour is plenty, and it really helps to get the muscles relaxed! Good Luck!!!
