We are about 40 miles from epicenter and we felt it!! It's was crazy shaking-- woke my son up from his nap!
Just glad it wasn't us, for a change. ;)
Wow! Crazy! I hadn't heard this, and since Mamapedia is my general source of all news lately, I'm glad you posted it! ;) AND I'm glad you're okay!
Very glad that everyone seems to be okay. Being from CA I am as used to earthquakes as I can be. I can't imagine how unsettling it must have been for folks on the east coast!

Thank you for the posting so I could check on my dear friend and her family that live there. I just did. She and family are fine.
Hope everyone else there is ok!
I did. I work on a higher floor in a hospital, and felt a swaying feeling more so than shaking. It was weird. No one on the low floors felt it.
I live near the Delaware Water Gap in New Jersey and the quake was still strong enough to wake up my toddler from his nap.
Neither my husband nor I felt it, but my husband said some of the people with desk jobs- and patients in hospital beds did. We're in western Massachusetts, btw.
I didn't feel it, but friends felt it in New Haven, CT
I didn't feel it, but reportedly those in taller building in Boston did.
Hubby in VA
Friend in NJ
Felt it in Pittsburgh...I asked this earlier.
Weird feeling!
We did!! Southern Maryland. I was driving with my kiddo's :). And I heard it was felt as far north as Martha's Vineyard and as far west as Detroit!!
We did here! Nice rattle and roll, and I knew immediately it was bigger than last year. I don't like them, and our buildings are not built to the right code for them, so I hope this isn't a trend.
Felt it in Indianapolis!...
Nothing in Middle Tennessee!
I felt it. I was sitting on my couch and suddenly felt this sensation that my couch was moving. It was the strangest thing. I live in Rhode Island. My brother, who works in D.C. thought someone was kicking his chair in the back. He said it got worse. All of his colleagues were looking around. He said it was the craziest thing!
felt it in the suburbs outside of philly
Was at a Dr. appointment in Arlington - building evacuated - at least I had already gotten dressed again! Traffic on the beltway was already getting bad at 2:30 and by 4 traffic a mess even in our neighborhood. Poor husband stuck somewhere on a bus - Metro running at low speeds until all tracks can be checked - besides he wasn't keen about being under ground. Still no cell phone service, but have been able to reach all my people by FB of all things. Really feeling bad for those dependent on MARC train service - they've shut down for the day. Also really sad to hear National Cathedral has been damaged.
People here in northern Illinois in taller buildings felt it.
Toledo Ohio felt it, thought someone came up and shook my chair!
Here all the way up in mid Ohio!
In the car in traffic. I thought: wow, that's a strong wind whipping by. Nope, the trees aren't moving. Is the car behind me nudging me while I wait here at the red light? Nope. No one behind me.
Weird.
