White BM

There was no subcategory that spoke to poop, sorry, needed to ask.
Since Fri. my lovely child has had very light colored BM, at times almost white. I have spoken to the MD and today we went there. She has had some sort of virus plus she is cutting 3 teeth as an aside. Anyway, I'm most concerned about the color of the BM as it can indicate more serious problems then a virus according to what I've read on line. Has any one experienced this and what happened?
Thanks,
L.
The doc says to give it a few more days and then bring in a stool sample if it's not better.

What can I do next?

how much milk is she drinking? And is she eating light colored foods? I would suggest keeping a food log and keeping track of how much and what she's eating and drinking. Then if it is something Physiological you can show the DR what has been going in... I watched one little girl that was drinking just a ton of milk and her BM was whitish yellow.
Watch her for any abnormal behavior and call DR asap if you see anything that makes your mommy sense tingle...

Good luck AND congrats on the little one!!!

A year ago I had my gallbadder removed becuase I had gallstones. While I waited for the sugery a white BM was on the list of things to call right away about. It never happened, but in my case the white BM had something to do with my gallbladder. I hope you find out soon what is going on.

If she's been ill, and not eating well, or suffering Diareaha/vomiting it's completely normal for her stool to be light colored...there's not much there to color it.

Give it a few days it will start to tighted up and get darker as she begins to eat more.

a friend of mine had this happen to her 2-3 mo old and it turned out to be a Biliary Atresia. which if not taken care of soon can lead to liver failure. I would insist on quick follow up, and a 2nd opinion if you are still concerned. I'm not sure how far into infancy the Biliary atresia can develop. it may require some more research. hope this helps. and i hope your baby just has a virus. prayers to you and your family.
