I'm looking at the Infiniti FX35 or the Lexus EX350. Anyone have one of these? What do you like or dislike about them? Im looking to get a smaller SUV. Right now I have a trailblazer. Anyone have a smaller sized SUV that they would recommend?

What can I do next?

If you don't need a 3rd row seat, I love my Nissan Rogue. Smaller, sporty, great gas milage etc. Good luck.

I have a Honda Pilot that I LOVE. Holds 8 comfortably and seats stow flat when not in use. Can't say enough good about that car.

If you have a Carmax dealership nearby, go look there even if you plan to buy new. The usually have all the SUVs parked in one area. It's a good place to compare one brand of vehicle against the next with zero pressure from the salespeople.

I have the FX35. I got the V-6 and wish I had spent the extra $ for hte V-8. The V-6 has plenty of power, don't get me wrong. I just like my cars to MOVE when I barely touch the gas. I LOVE the way it sounds when I crank it. Silly? maybe. But I was in a Lexus GS when I bought the Infiniti. Two totally different autos. The Infiniti is a sports car....sounds like it....rides like it....handles like it. It definately has the "cool" factor you might like. I felt like a granny in the Lexus (although I also loved my Lexus).

Things I don't like about it is that I have a one year old and a 7 year old. I haven't changed the seat facing forward for the little one yet so there is almost NO space in the front passenger seat. I have to push it so far forward to get the car seat in backward it's pretty uncomfortable for any front seat passengers.

My biggest complaint is that there just isn't enough room for a family of four to fit comfortably. If my 7 year old has invited a friend we have to take the Hummer because we just don't have the space otherwise.

We are actually thinking of trading it in just because of the space limitations. Otherwise, I've enjoyed driving it. It's been a good car.

I've had my fx35 for 2 years. Love it...very sporty and fun to drive compared to most suv's. The pick up is awesome. Also love the intelli-key feature. Will not even consider buying another car that doesn't have it. Infiniti also offers a valet service where they will come out to your home and leave you with a dealer car while your vehicle gets it's routine maintenance or whatever other service you need. Can't beat that!

I have a Toyota RAV-4 and I really like it. It is definitely a smaller SUV than the highlander or pilot, it fits one carseat and two adults easily and has plenty of room for strollers, pack n play, etc in the back.

I have a Land Rover LR3 and LOVE it the only draw back that you might not have considered is that these luxury cars often require Premium fuel and higher maintaince cost and I can't just take my Landie to the neighborhood mechanic I have to travel into San Antonio. But since you are looking at these in particular I am guessing that fuel/maintinance/insurance costs are not really a huge concern right, it wasn't for us as I don't drive a lot and just make short errand runs around town. I test drove the Lexus and really liked it but it did not have the cargo space I was wanting. I think that the LR2 is simmular in size to the Infinity and the Lexus. I will tell you though that once you get into a vehicle of that caliber you get spoiled and you won't ever want to go back. Infact I am looking at the larger Lexus SUV when it comes time to replace the Landie. I had an Explorer before and it was great but as I said there is no going back:)

I love love love my Honda Pilot. It has 175,000 miles on it and has never had a problem. It seats 8 but isn't huge like some SUVs. I probably won't ever buy anything but a Pilot .... until they stop making them and then I will be sad!

I have a Chevy Traverse and I absolutely love it. It has a third row seat and it holds 8 people. It's extremely roomy which I was surprised because I owned a Tahoe before and it seems to hold more stuff than the tahoe did. It's also great on gas. I can get almost 400 miles before each fill up and it costs me approximately 55 dollars to fill up. I purchased the one with the overhead tv and the wireless headphones, that was an absolute god send because my children hardly talk at all in the car. It's especially important to have for long road trips. I have a navigation system with the camera that pops up when you back up, it's helpful to have all of those things as my sense of direction is way off and I tend to hit the garbage cans a lot. Any one of these vehicles the other moms listed are good but I am certainly biased towards my chevy. I say try them all out and see which one you like. Believe it or not, the dealerships will let you take a vehicle home for the night to try it out so do that for each one and see what works for you.
