We are thinking of getting a mini van but not sure which to get. I like the look of the Buick Terrezza. The Chevy Uplander is the same style. My husband likes the town and country. We haven't test drove anything yet. I just wanted your oppinion on which mini vans you like best and why?

What can I do next?

We're also on the market for a mini van and are seriously considering the Kia Sedona. I know a family that owns one and they love it. Plus, it's reasonably priced and includes a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty! We'd previously considered the Town and Country, but several people I spoke with told me they'd had problems with their Chrysler/Dodge mini vans.

Hi, we have had a Dodge Grand Caravan SE 1996 since our son was born. We bought the used minivan the year he was born 2000. We still have it. It needs normal maintenance like anything else. The new Chrysler Town and Country 2008 is beautiful and has many new features. I am an avid subscriber to Consumer Reports. However, if you look at Enterprise.com you can find minivans that are slightly used and the price is almost half of the new price. Also look at AutoTrader.com. You can find some really nice vehicles on the lots without having to go through the haggling process. I hope I haven't filled you with too much information, however, we've been searching for a new van ourselves and I like to research to see what's available without having to pay the dealer sticker. My friend has a Honda Odessy and it's a great van as well. More money of course but a great van. The Toyota Sienna is another great van. These three vans are the top in the Consumer Reports.

My hubby has been an accident investigator for over 15 years, so we always get the safest and most reliable vehicles. (Usually after he sees one in a really nasty crash.) Our mini van is the Honda Odyssey. It does extremely well in crashes. It's roomy. It's great to drive. It gets good gas mileage. I love the features (back-up cameras, voice controls, etc.)

We have had a Town and Country now for a year and I love it. Never thought I'd be a mini-van Mom, but here I am! We have a baby (8 months) and a 2 1/2 year old. I love the stow and go seats. The van is SO flexible with that. We went for it and got leather seats (much easier to clean) and DVD system and navigation - with the intent of not buying a new car again for a long long time. With that interior, it really feels like a 'nice' car - not just a baby mover. We are getting 19-20mpg, which I thought was pretty good for such a large vehicle. Good luck!

My sister loves her Honda Odyssey.. It's reliable and the doors that open automatically are great. Check out epinions.com and Consumer Reports to make sure you get reliable cars. Good luck!

I have been very pleased with the Chrysler Grand Voyager that we bought in early early 2001... we have had no major problems with it.. just the regular wear and tear type of things. I would gladly buy this car again - with upgrades of course.. my next one should have the DVD player to keep the kids quiet in the back... seat warmers.. electric everything, CD player etc. My husband has also owned a PT Cruiser by Chrysler since 2002 and it has held up pretty well too. We bought both brand new and the van hasn't even had the proverbial break down after we made the last payment. It has been a good vehicle.

I had been driving minivans for years. I had chrysler, ford and chevys. Last year I went into a dodge durango. I have 4 kids and I tell you what I will never own a minivan again.
The stow and go seats are just awesome. Not only that this week i was remodeling my kitchen and i was able to load a huge pantry right into the back of it like I was driving a truck.
Just think of the safety you put your kids in. I would rather be driving a big SUV then a small minivan.
My suggestion would be look at the safety. Dont listen to others when they say oh its a 5 star crash and blah blah blah.
You need to think what happens if a big truck hits me with my children in it? I think spending more money on gas is more important than losing a family member. Minivans dont go well with trucks or let alone most of these big SUV's.
Oh and the town and country's maybe nice with the reverse seats and stuff but is it really safe? Expecially with a table being around your kids in a crash??
Good luck

Hi C.,

My hubby and I bought a toyota sienna and we love love love it! It has lots of features and it is so family friendly! Plus it doesn't drive like a van, but an SUV. It's got quite a bit of power, and its so comfy. We checked the honda odyssey and a few others, but the toyota struck our fancy.
