I spent almost 1 full month at Pomerado before I delivered my daughter. I LOVED it there! It was like staying at a hotel. My own private room, DVD player, micro, fridge, jaccuzi tub and shower, you get to order each meal off of a special menu, and a snack lady that comes by twice a day with a cart full of drinks and snacks to choose from. The nurses and staff were wonderful. They really took good care of me. I HIGHLY recommend them.
I also HIGHLY recommend the lactation consultants at Pomerado. They came and visited me everyday after my DD was born by c-section for every feeding and helped me out. Then when both DD and I returned to the hospital 2 days after being released (I had to have an emergency bowel obstruction surgery and DD had to go back under the lights for jaundice) they came and visited me downstairs on the surgery floor everyday, gave me TONS of pumping and breastfeeding supplies, and checked on my baby everyday and gave me updates on how she was doing.
Also the NICU and perinatologist at Pomerado are top notch. They were excellent at explaining everything to hubby and I and keeping us updated on how she was doing, etc.
I just can't rave enough about Pomerado Hospital and the staff there. I have recommended all my friends to deliver there.
I would not recommend Scripps La Jolla. My friend delivered there and I was blessed to have been asked to be there for the delivery of her 3rd child. She ended up having a c-section and they moved her to a different room each night of her 4 day stay. Sucky!
My OB is Dr. Karen Kohatsu. I had a pretty risky pregnancy and she held my hand through it all. I see her partner Dr. Le whenever Dr. Kohatsu is busy and she is wonderful too. Their practice is called Poway Womens Care and they are located in Rancho Bernardo.
