Looking for opinions. Which electronic device do you like best? Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy notebook or Ipod Touch

This is for a Christmas gift for my 9 year old and was curious which technology you like best as a parent.

What can I do next?

If I were making this purchase, I'd go with the Kindle Fire. My girlfriend's 8 year old daughter has one and she (mom) loves that she can set the amount of usage time on it-- it eliminates a lot of arguments.

Well I only own the Kindle Fire so that's the only one I can comment on. I love it! I mostly use it for reading but it makes a nice little travel laptop and has all kinds of cool features I never even use.
I also love the fact I can download my daughter's school books and add audio. She's ADHD and struggles with reading comprehension so the ability for her to hear what she's reading (as well as changing the font size, layout, etc.) is SO helpful, it's made a huge difference this school year already.

I got a Google tablet for the kids last year and they love it. It has a "Kids Place" on it so they can have the device without supervision. It will not allow them to close out of the approved apps without a password. I love knowing that they only had access to programs "I" have approved and downloaded from an admin capability.

They could play their games that required the internet but could not go anywhere from there. For instance, they couldn't be playing Penguins then go to FB on the window/app.

So I recommend a tablet or something like that where they have full capabilities to play games, read a book if they like to read, watch TV shows, go online to a specified place, etc....I really have enjoyed the kids tablets myself too.

We have owned 2 kindle fire's and both had the same problem with not charging after awhile (they did replace the first 1 for free).

My 9 yr old loves his iPod touch. Uses it for games, music and a camera. He loves that he can take it anywhere.

I have no experience with the notebook but we have been talking about getting so I would be interested to hear what anyone that has 1 thinks of it!

I love, love, love my Kindle Fire for reading books/magazines, surfing the net and reading my e-mail. I prefer it honestly over my iPad. I just got the new iPhone 5S and am getting used to it.

My kids love their touches. My daughter (12) would also like having a tablet I'm sure (she "borrows" my ipad sometimes when we are out away from home)... but mostly she uses her ipod. Son uses his daily for music. A tablet is too bulky for his needs in that department. He sticks his ipod in his sweat pants and hooks up his headphones while waiting in between wrestling matches, or on the bus ride, or in the car. He uses it to text also. A tablet he can't carry around with him. He's a boy--no purse!

I think it depends on what they would use it for the most. For music and some games I would go with the Touch. If it is for reading and mainly games I would get the Galaxy or Fire. I have both a Touch and a Fire. I use the Fire all the time. But I use mine for reading, games, email, etc. My 9 year old son also has a Touch but would much rather use my Fire for his games. It is easier to see and play is what he says. I can't say about the Galaxy since I have no experience with that one.
