Hi,
My sister and her daughter are coming this weekend and I would like to get a family portrait with them, my daughter, and myself. I live in West Chester and I'm looking for a portrait studio that does not cost too much and that is good. I have used the Picture People in the Exton Square Mall previously and I think they're wonderful but very expensive so I would prefer to find a less expensive place. Does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of perhaps Walmart, Sears, Kiddie Kandids in Babiesrus, or JcPenney but have no experience with any of them. I would also be looking for a place that can provide us with the pictures that same day. Thanks for your help!

So What Happened?

We ended up going to Kiddie Kandids in Babiesrus and they were wonderful! They were so patient and the pictures came out lovely! Thank you for all your suggestions

Hi J.! I love Picture People, but it can add up very quickly. Do you have the membership card there? That helps a bit. I have had friends who have gone to Babies R Us and really loved it and were happy with the photos. I didn't love my JcPenney experience personally....

The only place that I have found that gives pictures the same day is Picture People. There are usually coupons, but it can add up if you want to buy a lot. They do really good pictures though. My second choice would be Target, then JC Penney (both same Portrait company, but I have had better experience at Target). Always good pictures, and with coupons they have good prices. I used Sears once, but was not happy with the pictures, they looked old. I want to go to Kiddie Kandids, they look comparable to Picture People (quality & price).

I have gotten my boys pictures taken of my boys for 9 of the first 12 months their first years, so I've had a bit of experience with portrait studios. Whenever my family goes for group shots though, we always use Picture People.

I had photos taken of my children at Sears before Christmas and my experience was great with them.

There are always coupons for their portrait studio and they are reasonable anyway.

You don't get the photos right away but you do get a copy of the photos to take home that day. They don't take long to come in.

Hi J.

JC Penney takes great portraits. You can go online and print out a coupon for 3.99 a sheet pictures. Call for an appointment they tend to be busy. You don't get the pictures back immediately, but you can't beat the price. I get all of our portraits done at Penney's.

I think the best place is Picture People. Yes, they are expensive! Walmart does not take pics anymore, but they were a great alternative (great price). JCPenney is your next best bet, but they are sometimes busy on the weekends. Hope this helps...
