How about a high-end women's consignment store in your area?
Hi mamas, I have a brand new burberry handbag that my aunt and uncle bought me a couple of years ago. I'm not really into the style of the bag and I've never used it (still has tags and everything). It looks expensive so I don't want to sell it for cheap but how do people know its authentic so that I can charge big $$?? :) Any suggestions as to where to post the ad? And how much do you think I can get for a burberry handbag?? Thanks!!

Ummm ... PM me please, I would like to have a pic of it and the year/style ... you may have an interested buyer depending on the bag.
First thing I would do is research the bag online, look on the tag and see if it has the style name on the tag so you can look up that exact bag. You can then find out how much the bag is worth. Then I would either email the company or go to a dept store to see how you know if the bag is genuine. Then, not only will you know if it is genuine, but you will know how to prove to someone purchasing that it is real. Then I would sell it on ebay. You can email out to your friends to see if they are interested, email out to us. :o) Or ebay. It is easy to sell on ebay, or if you know someone who will list it for you. If it is $500 brand new, then you would list it "new with tags" on ebay and list it for a starting rate of say...$350 then let people bid on it. Or you can list it as 'buy it now' for $400. Make sure you say "new with tags" and all the details then you say that it retails for $500 but you will sell for $400. Take many, many pics of it b/c someone spending that kind of money will want to see pics of the side, the front, the inside, the tag....etc
Why don't you tell us about it.....ha ha Burberry's are very nice bags. Are you sure you don't want to use it??? Won't your aunt and uncle be upset? I like nice handbags, they make me feel pretty. You might consider keeping it. :o)
If you still have the bag and are still considering selling, I may be interested. PM me! :)
I would say ebay though remember even burberry bags go on sale. I got 3 burberry bags this year via nordstrom.com with 40 per cent off so it was less than 1500 for all 3. and these are 2011 models. so you could put it on ebay with starting price 200 and then let the bidding begin. also make sure you get it authenticated. I wouldn't buy it on ebay unless i knew it was authentic. there are a lot of fake burberrys out there. good luck
First, get the bag authenticated. My usual source to confirm authenticity is purseforum.com or you could try your local burberry shop (though most stores won't/can't authenticate). Next, do some research as someone mentioned below to determine the exact style, model, etc. This info may already be on the tags (but would only rely on tags if you have properly authenticated the bag). Then, I recommend that you list on eBay (lot of related fees, but good exposure) or Craigslist (free, but seems like less exposure to buyers -- personally, I find Craigslist much more suspicious and crawling with fakes) or maybe a consignment store... Best wishes.
You can take it to a consignment store.
Or Craigs list.
Or put a classified ad in the paper.
You need to make sure, it is an authentic Burberry bag. There are many imposters.
Then you need to know, how much that particular bag/style costs. Retail. Just look at the Burberry website.
I've been wondering about this too. I have a Prada bag I'd like to sell but wasn't sure where to start.
There is a website called Beg, Borrow Or Steal, which is all designer handbags. I am not sure if they buy them from you or list them as consignment, but it's a great site. If you can't find it, email me and I'll forward you the email (I just received an email on friday that they are holding their annual "sell your handbags" event. They have a whole group of Burberry.
Good luck.
Look and see what they're going for on ebay.
And then list it there.
Good luck!
post it on Facebook if you're on there. maybe a local friend would want it. good luck.
