Where to Move??

We have our home in N. Ft. Worth/border of Keller on the market and are interested in moving. My husband is driving to Irving and the commute is getting a bit too long. We are thinking about Grapevine, Flower Mound, Lewisville, or staying in the Keller area but moving more to Eatern Keller (377 East). What are your opinions??

I live in an older neighborhood in Colleyville and absolutely LOVE it! We have some homes for sale that you should take a look at. Colleyville has grown quite a bit since I moved here back in 1999. It is a wonderful place to live and the schools are great!

I live in the Flower Mound/Lewisville area and my boys go to school in Irving and I don't consider that to be an ideal commute - in traffic it's close to 40 minutes unless you can get in the HOV lane and it's around 30 minutes (and it takes less than 7 minutes for me to get to I-35E). If you're further west in Flower Mound, it's even worse. You might want to look at Coppell, which is much closer to Irving than Flower Mound or Lewisville. Grapevine might be a better option, as well.

Might also consider Bedford, Colleyville, etc

We moved last summer from North Fort Worth to Highland Village and we love it here. It's right off I35 and my hubby says his commute is so easy now. The schools here are top notch and it is rated the #1 safest community in North Texas. Good luck with your move and sale of your house!

Hi K.-
We live in Flower Mound and lots of our neighbors commute to Irving/Las Colinas. It seems like a lot of people who work there live here.

I would seriously look into Coppell or the Los Colinas/Valley Ranch area. 183 is a nightmare in the morning. I used to drive it to work in Irving (at the time, I lived in Azle...horror!).

Good luck. Moving is never fun.

We also lived in north Fort Worth in Park Glen around North Tarrant and Beach St. My husband works in Irving too. We moved to Justin just west of Texas Motor Speedway. It cut my husbands commute in half. His work is right down 114. At the old house it used to take almost an hour to get to work because of all the traffic, but now it's only about 30 min. There are tons of new homes being built in this area that are really nice and very affordable as there isn't much out here right now. We were able to get a 3700 sq. ft. home on 1/3 acre for only $50K more than we sold our old house for which was only 1300 sq. ft. and on a tiny lot. Colleyville and Grapevine would have been much closer but the homes were out of the price range we wanted to pay. We'd have paid more and gotten half the house we got out here. The area seems a bit out in the country, but the Walmart area in Roanoke at 114 & 377 is only 10 min. away and we get to all the shopping areas in Grapevine / Southlake in about 15-20 min. I really like it out here which surprises me as I'm very much a city girl!
