I don't know about lots of chicken, but my daughter loves Morningstar Farms chick nuggets (a vegetarian alternative) if you'd be up for giving those a try.
My kids love chicken nuggets... especially the fast food kind..
I have bought a couple packs of chicken nuggets at the grocery store.. but they arent very good... Are there good chicken nuggets out there in the stores? Not too much bread and fillers.. lots of chicken??

I make my own, just cut up some chicken, dip it in italian flavored breadcrumb, and fry in a little bit of oil. My kids are grown, but still love when i make these
I actually take chicken breasts, chop them into chunks, coat them in shake & Bake and then bake them with a little olive oil on the pan. The kids love them!!
Bell and Evans has really delicious chicken tenders. They are a bit pricey because they are all natural. They are all white meat, and have a thin breading. They are so much better than the more processed ones out there. I have gotten them at Kroger, Costco and Whole Foods.
Bell and Evans (nuggets or tenders or patties) are the best. They come in regular, but also come in gluten free or coconut. We prefer the regular...even my husband likes them. They are not processed whatsoever and are good leftover/cold too. They sell all varieties at Whole Foods (pricy, but worth it) or the Gluten Free at Costco (HUGE bargain, but don't taste so good leftover).
Costco carries all white meat chicken nuggets that have no breading at all. It all chicken, but in a "nugget" size and shape so it's easy for kids.
Hi Lisa,
My name is K. and I would like to suggest to you that you locate a 'Gordon Foods Store /Marketplace". They are based out of Grand Rapids and currently they have multiple stores in the southeast MI area. I have used their food products for over 20 years and I am extremly pleased with their quality. I've served as a head cook at a summer camp for 15+ years and every time we had chicken nuggets for lunch....the campers were thrilled!! I'm positive that your children will enjoy them too.
Blessings ~K.~
Hi Lisa,
I make my own & we all love them. Get about 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cut them into strips.
In a pie plate or shallow dish, mix:
1 cup of breadcrumbs
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1/4 tsp ground red pepper
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp black pepper
In another pie plate, pour 1 cup of low-fat buttermilk.
Dip each strip of chicken into the buttermilk then coat both sides with the breadcrumb mixture and place them on a cookie sheet lightly coated with cooking spray. Bake for 6 minutes, turn and bake 6 more minutes (until no longer pink in the middle) in a pre-heated 400 degree oven. Enjoy!

There is a kind called Ian's Chicken nuggets, they're pretty good, but really expensive; they are found at Arbor Farms Market on Stadium or at Whole Foods ... there is another good kind that I have only found at whole foods and it is called Free Bird; it's also a little on the expensive side for the amount you get (I buy the chicken patties) but the chickens are all free range chickens which means they are treated as humanly possible for animals that will be eaten. :/ Good luck!
We like Perdue Popcorn Chicken from Costco. They also have some flavored kinds, but we like the plain.
Morning Star Farms has two great products- Chik Patties and Chik Nuggets... Even though they are completely vegetarian, they will be the best "chicken" you will ever taste. I have fooled many children with this stuff, they always assume it's chicken. And it's better for them so that is great!
They are a bit pricey, but they go on sale often.
I like the nuggets (I think they are called "chicken drummetes") from Trader Joe's. There is one in Ann Arbor. I also have tried to make homemade chicken nuggets, which my husband and I loved! I got the recipe from a Rachel Ray magazine.
Costco carries 2 different brands. Ones shaped like Mickey Mouse that are OK and Tyson 100% natural nuggets which are excellent. As I recall both are 5 pound bags for around 12 dollars.
If you lived in the Detroit metro area, Krogers have some good nugget....
Chicken nuggest from Cosco they are in the shape of dinosaurs. I will even eat them and I am not a chicken nugget lover...they are just surprisingly that good!
I buy Tyson white breast chicken nugguts and they sorda look like fingers. They are really good my son and daughter love them and on top of it they are crunchy. I make them in the deep frier I never tried in the oven.
Whole Foods and Hiller's carry this brand...it's I think Organic, gluten free but delicious. It's called Bell & Evan's. http://www.bellandevans.com/index.cfm?act=gluten_free
lisa; if you buy chicken nuggets in a store, deep fry them and then cool them turn out way better, thats all i would know, haahah either way enjoy , D. s
I always give my little boy Morning Star Farms veggie chicken nuggets. They are a little lower in fat and don't have the weird, mystery chunks that grocery store nuggets have. He has been eating them since he was really little and just realized they are vegetarian, but didn't care.
We like to get the Tyson ones at Costco. They are in the frozen section. I believe it's $13 for 5 pounds.
We always buy the Tyson chicken nuggets and my girls love them.
Lisa ~
We came across some excellent ones that the boys LOVE. They are Tyson Honey Battered Breast Tenders. They are very lightly battered (not breaded) and full of white breast meat that's juicy, not dry. The honey makes them only slightly sweet, not like some we've tried that tasted sickly sweet. The best part for me is that they only take about 4-5 minutes per side, so when we get home late it's easy to pop 'em in, warm some veggies and a side, and they're good to go. My husband and I even like them. They're frozen, and in a red Tyson bag (or smaller portions are in a box). On a side note, we always do them in our toaster oven, not the microwave. Nice, crispy batter that way. Not sure how they do in the microwave, never tried it. You might give 'em a try, and if you come across some others that you find you do like PLEASE POST, LOL...
schwans food, I am not sure if they have it in your area... but you can go to their website and order online and have them shipped or dropped at your house. There are a couple of different kinds. Dont get the popcorn chicken or the breast meat chicken. The chicken pattie nuggets are the best. We go thru a bag a week usually. Hope this helps, here is the website. www.schwansfoodservice.com/
Wendy's has chicken strips that are whole breast. I'm sure you can find that in the grocery store, but you have to look and it might be in a specialty section
I have found the best breaded chicken at Sam's Club. Hopefully, you or someone you know has a membership. They come in a bag Member's Mark (sam's club brand) called jumbo popcorn chicken. My son loves it and it's actually healthy. More protein, than carbs (which is not usually the case). This isn't like chicken nuggets, but closer to smaller version of the strips. So they are still crunchy. Good Luck!

Lisa,
I got popcorn chicken at Sams Club, precooked and frozen. It was very good. The breading wasn't too thick, or too spicy and all white meat. My kids loved it. I just baked it in the oven on a cookie sheet. I can't remember the brand name, but I do remember it was the only all white meat, popcorn chicken they had. Hope this helped.
Hi Lisa,
My son LOVES the Naked Nuggets from Costco. They have no breading and are high in protein. Here is a link to the website on the bag if you want to check them out: http://www.blueribbonrestaurants.com/products.asp?nav=ln_...
Have you ever tried to make your own chicken nuggets? You can make them and know exactly what is in them and they are really easy. You can make a great big batch and, if you use fresh chicken (not frozen), after they are cooked you can store them in freezer bags for convenient re-heatable meals. Here's how: Cut up some chicken breast into nugget size, dip each piece in flour, then egg, and then some whole wheat seasoned bread crumbs, and fry in canola oil... and enjoy or you can then freeze them and re-heat in the oven for crispy yumminess.
Costo has these dinosaur shaped CN-- they are good. Also-- try trader joes...their chicken fingers are amazing...I bet the CN would be good too.
they're a little more expensive than the ones in the grocery stores, but they're so much better! i even eat them. i get Chicken Bites from our Schwann man (they have a website).
They are real chunks of white chicken and lightly breaded. Not processed meat. My kids love them more than any other chicken nugget they've had, and they're about 4g of fat per serving. Lower in calories (can't remember exact cal). I keep them on hand all the time.
I have purchased the best chicken nuggets fronm GFS. A day care in which I worked served them and those are the ones they used. They are great!
If you are not careful Costco chicken nuggets (Dino shaped) can be soggy.
I got a coupon for $1.00 off a bag of Fast Fixins breaded chicken products.I first tried the chicken tenders and we loved them.I found it so far at Save alot which only cost me 99 cents with the coupons..and Kmart..I also tried the popcorn chicken and the chicken patties are great! not alot of breading. They do have nuggets also.

Costco - Dino Nuggets
My son LOVES Morning Star Farms Chik'n Nuggets (Veggie Chicken Nuggets). They have 0 cholesterol are low in fat and have 12g of protein per serving (4 nuggets). I don't care for the taste, but he can't get enough. We are meat eaters at home, but I started him out on veggie products because I was afraid of him choking on real meat when he was first starting table foods. He loves almost all of their products. http://www.seeveggiesdifferently.com/
