Where to Buy Pinwheels?

When I ask my 3-1/2 yr. old son what he wants to get his Daddy or his little sister for Christmas, he always says "a pinwheel!". I have no idea why -- we've never had one in the house and I've never seen him play with one at preschool. Anyway, I thought it would be cute to go out and buy a few for him to give as gifts. Just looking for those old-fashioned, cheap pinwheels. Anyone know where to buy them? Toys R Us? A party store? Wal-mart? I don't want to go on a wild goose chase at stores this time of year!
Thanks, Moms!

My son loves pinwheels and I bought him one at the dollar store. Dollar general, it is around here. They come in a 2 pack for a buck

could maybe show him a picture of them from the computer or something to make sure that's what he's talking about as my kids have mixed up words before, since you are not sure how he was exposed to pinwheels :) I haven't seen any in winter, but they are not so difficult to make and would be a cute craft gift if they are not so easy to find. :)

I usually get mine at Wal-Mart for $1. BUT it's usually summer time so I'm not sure. They're in the toy department on one of the endcaps.

Your son sounds so cute and thoughtful!

Have a Merry Christmas!

I've seen them at the dollar store. Call around and ask. Seems like a party store would carry them.
There are also cookies called pinwheels, are you sure he isnt meaning those?

Here's what I would do. I would make some for him and then make up a craft kit for him to make his own.

Buy an interesting box for the kit, or put the supplies in a basket. Any craft store should have the supplies. You can make them out of almost anything that you can buy in sheet form, paper, aluminum foil, etc...

And yes LOL I agree, first ask him if he meant the edible ones hahaha
