I am looking for recommendations on where to buy quality organic produce in the Seminole/Largo area. The minimal selection at my Publix just does not cut it. Besides the expense, nearly half of what I buy is bruised or rotten by the time I get it home. Thanks Mamas.
I too live in Largo/Seminole and have 11 month old twins. I have been to Crunchy Mama. I also went to Richards (on West Bay in the Bone Fish Grill plaza) and they don't have a lot of produce but lots of organic dairy and other pantry foods. Sweetbay as a lot of organic stuff (again not produce) and they seem pretty reasonable with their prices. They have 3 aisles with just organic and then organic throughout the store.
Crunchy Mama's sells organic produce for regular purchase and also has a co- you can become part of and get baskets of produce each week for a better price. It's also better than buying from a grocery store because you support smaller, local farmers....
The local Morton Plant Nursing Moms group has several member moms that have started co-ops for different areas. If you aren't a member of their Yahoo group I could search the archives and get you the info.

Check out Nature's Finest on 66th and Central, Palm Harbor Natural Foods, Nature's Food Patch on Cleveland in Clearwater, Wild Oats in Tampa on Dale Mabry, then there is also Nature's Harvest not to far from MacDill. You can get exact addresses by typing the names into yp.yahoo.com. Those are the largest and the best stores around. There is also Rollin Oats on 9th street and I think 26 Avenue

You can buy Organic products at Fresh Family Goods just off the gandy and east of 4th Street. You MUST call or e-mail for an appointment. I recommend e-mail, so her e-mail address is ____@____.com owner of the store is Marcie and you can e-mail her to find out what she carries that you are looking for. If she doesn't have it, chances are she may be able to get it.
