My husband and I are a little clueless in this department and need a little help. My husband will be graduating in May (Finally!)and will be interviewing hoping to make a career change. Up to this point he has always been in a position to wear business casual or even jeans. We would really like to purchase at least one suit at this point, intitially for interviews. It would also be nice just to have in case of weddings, funerals (ugh...), etc.... We like the modern look of flat front pants, no pleats, and no cuffs on the pant legs. We went to Men's warehouse and they were like sleezy car salesman, I don't think we will be going back. Any help would be appreciated. Where to buy? How much does a suit really cost? What material should it be? Colors or style? How many buttons on the jacket? Cost is definitely a factor for us at this point. Please help point us in the right direction. Thank you!
Hi A., Go to K & G clothing http://www.kgsuperstore.com/ They have beautiful clothing and with the money you save...you'll be able to get yourself something. They usually have a 2 for $99.00 suit sale for men and they are designer. Check them out.....
Morris and Sons. they are south of loop in strip mall. they sell designer at a discount. you'll want great stuff for yourself as well. good luck.

My husband gets his suits from the Mister Shop.
I think there are a few out there, ours is at Harlem Irving Plaza. I know it sounds crazy, but a good quality suit will set you back about $1000!! The salesmen are professional and know what they are doing. We go go back to the same guy every time!!

Go to Macy's or Nordstrom. Number of buttons/two piece/three piece/color all will depend on his size and height and his preferences. He won't know until he tries them on.
Also, as for budget, my husband splurged on one really nice suit--even though at the time we didn't have a lot of money. It shouldn't look cheap because a good classic suit will last a very long time. He can change the look of it by different shirts and ties.
Jos A Banks at Orland Park has great quality suits for reasonable prices with wonderful customer service.

You won't beat the service or expertise at Nordstrom. They know everything about everything...I worked there years ago and am simply amazed at he lack of knowledge most store's employees have about their product - not the cas at Nordys. You might not get a super deal on the price but you'll get something he'll love for years and years to come - that will pay for itself in the long run. They are also the only retailer I know of that has a REAL SALE once a year. The Anniversary sale is the third Friday in July every year. They bring in new fall merchandise and cut the price about 1/3. After the sale, prices go up to regualr retail....anything you buy at Anniversary is a true deal.

My husband liked Jos A Bank and Macys for suits. They could tailor them at both locations and usually have several times a year while they are cheaper. It will range from 300-600. total.
My husband did buy one custom suit made from scratch, I could of killed him when I found out how much he paid $1000. But, honestly the suit looks AMAZING on him.
