Hi C.,I usually buy my meats at Costco. i put them in the slow cooker as well and then shred them to make tacos! i cant ever seem to cook it right from anywhere else! Also you can try midwestern meats on Greenfield and Main st! they are great!
You have all been so helpful in the past, I thought I would throw this one out there. Is ther anywhere in the East Valley to get some decent cuts of beef? I don't think I have had a good roast since I moved here four years ago. The last few roasts I have gotten from the grocery store have been extremely tough. The last one I could barely cut with a sharp knife. I like to cook my roasts in a slow cooker. Are there any cuts that work better for this than others? I would like to have a nice beef dinner that I didn't have to appologize for. Thanks! C.

Von Hansons Butcher in Chandler AZ. Here is the website. Looks like they are mostly located in Minnesota but oddly they have one location in Chandler. You will find that location towards the bottom of the page.
Good Luck!

Hi C.,
I know what you mean. We've found Midwestern Meats in Mesa to be a great source of beef and other meats. They also have a bakery that is delicious! http://www.midwesternmeats.com/index.html They are in EAST Mesa. Their customer service is unbelievable! You won't be disappointed. The cleanliness of the store in beyond compare. When you walk in and look at the meat case you start to salivate. Give it a try.
Good luck! I feel your pain, but mine was eliminated once I discovered MMs!
Have a great day!
You use the slow cooker and they are still tough? I'm curious as to what you cook them with, because the slow cooker has transformed the worst cuts of meat into delicious tender dinners for me numerous times. I have a recipe you can have if you're interested. You can always try the more expensive stores, like AJ's and see if you have better luck. Oh, and is there any reason why you don't try pork roasts? I know some people don't care for it but I find it to be so much more tender.
