I'm not sure what the hours are, but the Exploritorium in Skokie is pretty great. It's like a little children's museum, and there'd be something for both of them! It's also cheap to get in to.
My daughter attends kindergarten full time, but I'd like to have her play around other kids on weekends rather than being with us or our friends (who don't have kids her age). Parents in her class are not really interested in playgroups. Tomorrow (Saturday March 5) I have some time off in the afternoon. Do you have any ideas where I could take her and my 4 month old for a few hours (indoors)?
I live in Des Plaines. Thanks!

Monkey Joe's. Kohl's children's museum and then check your library for story time.
What about some kind of weekly lesson on Saturdays? We have a weekly swim lesson that my son really likes and has made some new friends through that and a monthly story hour at the library which is great too!
A McDonalds or Burger King with a playscape
A public library - check to see if they have any programs going on, our library has several play stations (a kitchen, computer area, games, small animals) set up
The mall - there's usually some type of play area for toddlers and preK kids
Is there a children's museum or science center in your area?
Most malls have play areas in the middle of them now... most kids love running around and playing there as long as they can!
If it's not too late for you, there's a model train show at Harper today and tomorrow. Until 5:00, I believe.
