Where Does It Come From?

So every couple months I go in and do a total cleaning in my 7 y/o daughter's room. Everytime I come out with a big black garbage full of junk. By junk I mean little toys that don't get played with and belong to nothing and just little junkie things that just lay around and make a mess. She cleans her room in between my cleanings and of corse all of these little things get shoved under the bed, dresser and thrown in desk drawers and in the closet. So my question is does anyone else go through this and WHERE DOES IT COME FROM? I will be excited to read the responses.

What can I do next?

I think it breeds somehow...LOL..I totally understand! My own child is now 16, so we no longer have the happy meals and such. But I do home childcare and can still find smaller bags of this tossable stuff every few months. UGH! I swear it breeds!

Mcdonald's happy meals, toys passed around between friends/grandparents/neighbors, little prizes she gets from school or party favor junk, if she gets a barbie or large toy, they usually come with little accessories that just end up being thrown around and never played with...

One reason we don't get any type of 'toy' with our meals or stuff like that, and I am careful at what kinds of cheap little toys I get them. I usually go in and weed those things out weekly b/c I cannot stand them.

UGHH! We totally just went through this ....we have 4 kids and our school district has this goody bag present policy. Every party they have at school each student brings enough trinkets for the whole class so each of my kids ends up with 25 trinkets....thats 100 pieces of junk PER PARTY ...on top of happy meal toys, Bratz feet, bakugans everywhere, and stuff they "trade" for on the school bus....it drives me crazy lol but these are the things my youngest treasures the most ..haha :)

It comes from McDonalds Happy Meals, school friends, under the seat in front of them on the school bus, found on the sidewalk, etc. Somehow it all finds its way to our childrens' rooms.

Very generous friends from school, my grandparents, Happy Meal toys, their own creativity, allowance-spending trips to the Dollar Tree, etc., are what helps contribute to our girls' junk piles here. It's a never-ending battle over here as well. I'm sure there will be a point in time when I'll be sad they're no longer keeping me busy. Right now is not one of those times.

The socks from the dryer morph into these crazy things, I swear.

Mostly from goodie bags and school "rewards", drives me bananas. I also think when the lights go off there is some sort of symbiosis that makes these toys multiply.

So much of it is party goody bags, school treat goody bags, and fast food kid meal toys. It doesn't materialize out of thin air (like socks - don't get me started about the space/time vortex in the dryer and socks. Never mind Pinky and the Brain - the Sock Army is trying to take over the world!).
Try to watch where the entry points are. Clean out back packs before they go to the bedroom and/or when you get back from a trip in the car make a garbage dump first priority straight into the can before you go into the house.
You still won't catch it all, but you can slow down on how fast it builds up.
