This is always a struggle for us, my daughter just grew out of her size 6 slim jeans, why is it so difficult to find a good fit for little slender children? Anybody know of a good place to get slim jeans? Thanks!
Thank you! I will check out Walmart today, the last time I looked they were pretty blown out, maybe I will have better luck today! We are not fancy people, so all I want is something that goes with all her cute tops, just something that fits! Leggings are just not enough when its so cold here still!

The only pants I have found to fit her nicely are the Levi's super skinny at Kohl's

Look for adjustable waistbands! You can find jeans at target, walmart etc, that have elastic on the inside with button holes to make it tighter. They are great!
The Children's Place. They usually have a denim sale where the pants are 10$ a pair. They do not carry them in store.

Children's Place & Old Navy have always had way too much fabric.

As a mom of a very skinny kid, please don't put your already skinny kid into skinny jeans at this age. They look awful. Really skinny kids DO get teased.
I second the Justice suggestion. I have never been one to shop at this store, but recently we were at an outlet mall and I took a brief look around. Their slim cut actually fits my daughter without having to use adjustable elastic bands on the inside. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE adjustable waistbands in pants, but when you have to pull them to the fifth button hole on each side just to get the pants to barely stay up, my kid often ends up with the elastic ends flopping out.
Justice has lots of good online sales. Once you know what she fits into you can buy them way cheap from their website. I event found yoga/athletic pants that fit her to wear to gymnastics, and I can't ever find a good fit for her unless I take in the waistband myself. Check it out.
Adjustable waist pants. My daughter is tiny...she just turned 6 and she still easily fits into 4T pants. I have to sometimes buy a size up and adjust the waistband because otherwise the right waist size would be way too short.
Old Navy and Justice both have "slim" and "skinny" style jeans. That's where I always go.
Another vote for Old Navy. Inexpensive skinny jeans.
JC Penneys has skinny jeans that are so cute.

I realized when our girl hit size 4's and could wear the toddler sizes and big girls clothes at the same time that she could cough and her pants would fall down...lol.
So I went to the big girls section at Walmart trying to find knit pants that we could take up a bit but still be long enough. Well, they have slim cut jeans! So we've never even looked anywhere else.
Right now she's in 10 slims and Walmart pants are just fine.
They are usually on shelves in front of the underwear in our Super Center.
My daughter has always had the best luck at JCPenney. It seemed that most of their styles came in slim, while at other stores only denim jeans or a few styles did. It was always good to have the online option too. We would go to the store to check fit for certain styles, then we could order the color/size combo we wanted online if they didn't have them in the store. Again, frequent sales and JCP rewards keeps the price down. I agree that slims are preferable to adjustable waist because slim affects the whole fit, not just the waist, plus you don't get that gathered/elastic look. Good luck!

I buy Dapper Snappers to help hold them up. They have cute styles for boys and girls ...
Amazon sells them too.
Gap clothes tend to be made long and slender... most other places seem to fit short and wide

I buy them anywhere I can find the ones with the elastic in the waist. Some of DD's jeans are roomy but cinched up she can still wear them. The jeans she's wearing today are from Kohl's.
Not sure about girls, but I buy jeans for my skinny boy at Old Navy. I just bought some this week, and they were on sale 2 for $30. They are not super tough, so my son does get holes in them. But he likes them, and he is hard to please.
Gymboree also has a slim fit. When they are having a sale the jeans are a good bargain. I do not pay the list price there (too expensive for my budget).
Abercrombie Kids. I just wait for them to go on sale, and they're pretty reasonable in price.

My sister gets my very slim niece's jeans from Zara.
We don't wear jeans in this house. Too uncomfortable.
I got Arizona brand slim with adjustable waist for my string bean son at JC Penney
I get all my boys jeans from old navy, they are tall and thin so they have to have a slim or the waist is too bunchy. I wish they sold boys jeans the same way they do mens, with different waist and lengths.
Have you tried Old Navy? My boys are all slim and their jeans fit nicely. For smaller kids, you can cinch up the waist inside too.
