Where Can I Take My 3 Yr Old for Affordable Dance/gym Classes?

I've been looking around for affordable dance or gymnastics classes to take my daughter. I've looked into the community centers but you have to be a member (otherwise it's expensive). And most places are Saturday mornings (no thank you!). Is there somewhere with flexible times, a variety of ages and classes, and $10ish a class?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Yesterday I signed her up at the La Mesa Community Center. They didn't have much available because I was a late enroller so I got her in a 30 min. class once a week. :( I was hoping for an hour. It was $70 for about 9 clases. Not bad. Thanks everyone!

HI M.,

looks like you live in la mesa! So have you checked out Java Mama, yet? http://www.javamama.com/classes.php

They have
Toddler's Tango (newborn to 5 years)
Did you know that music and movement stimulate kids’ brain development? This fun program develops social and cognitive skills and concepts, gross motor skills and laughter. With movement, music and instruments we will use our imagination to explore the motions of our bodies with dance, learn songs from around the world and play with props and instruments. This is a great class for individual kids as well as siblings! Instructor: Kendra Brownsberger

Notes: 6-week series. Cost: $60 per series. For more information on Toddler's Tango visit http://www.toddlerstango.com. Parent participation required.

Hope that sounds reasonable to you.

Depends where you live. I live in the east county and take my dtr. to Dance Express in El Cajon ###-###-####. I pay as I go and it is 12.50 for one hour. It is split in to ballet and tap, and the girls have a lot of fun. You can also pay for the entire session, which saves a 1.00 or so per class.

Hello,
My daughter is 7 and my son is 4 and they have been taking sports and gymnastics classes at the rec center by our house. I know you said something about a community center so Im not sure if it's the same thing because the sports class is $15 for 10 weeks. And the gym class is $35 a month. You don't have to be a member but if you live in the same city as the center it could be a few dollars cheaper. I live in San Diego/La Mesa. Our rec Center is called San Carlos Rec Center.
Hope this helps a little, D.

The Toby Wells YMCA -- which is in the Clairmont Mesa area just off I-15 -- has a very good gymnastics program and also has ballet classes for young kids. You don't have to be a member to sign up for classes, but you get a discount if you're a member. The gymnastics classes are offered throughout the week, but I'm not sure about the ballet classes. My girls (8 and 5) have been in the gymnastics classes for several years -- since before the new Toby Wells center opened -- and enjoy them. Good luck.
