Where Can I Buy a Maternity Swimsuit in Meridian/Boise?

I've never been pregnant over the summer, so I've never had to buy a maternity swimsuit. But our neighborhood pool just opened and I'm 12 weeks and starting to show! I can get away with my current suit for a little while, but I think we'll be spending a lot of time in the water this summer.

I just started looking for suits. I checked Ross and Walmart, but they had nothing. My next place to try is Target, because they usually have a great maternity section. But even then, I'm afraid there won't me much of a selection.

And does anyone know if maternity board shorts exist?

Another problem is that I can't spend a fortune. I saw that Target and Walmart have suits online for around $25, which is perfect. I'm guessing that Motherhood or another specialty store wouldn't have anything under $50, and that's not okay! I usually wear suits for 3-4 summers, so I can't see shelling out more for one I'll only wear for 3 months.

And I welcome any advice you have on how to get the right fit, what looks cute vs. what doesn't, etc.

What can I do next?

I bought a tankini with a skirt covered bottom at shopko for $20 to $25 last year. It covered the parts of my body that balooned out during my pregnancy and this year I while I am still sheding the weight I am wearing it again. I usually shop at the swim and run shop, they sell quality swimsuits that last a long time, however they are a little spendy.

I live here in Boise too, lol.

The Swim and Run store is where I have bought my last two swim suites. They have two stores here, one by Albertson around 16th street, and one on Fairview out by I think 5 mile. They have sales on and off. You may want to use shorts with a suit top. When I was pregnant I used a suit that was two sizes too big with a skirt so that when the suit stretched out and up it did not show, but that suit I got at Ross. Gook luck.

I have one from Motherhood that was only around $20 or so. It would be worth checking it out because it is soooo comfortable. I know JCPenney has a good maternity selection that would justify the trip to the mall.

If you can't find board shorts, you could try a lightweight cotton skirt that you could wear under your belly. I did that and it was very comfortable and I wasn't too self-conscious about my thighs!

I think I got mine from one of three places - Gap, Target or JCPenny. It was online, and was a two piece, tank top. I had gained quite a bit of weight, and probably got it a bit too large anyway, but never actually ended up swimming. If you can find one local and can try it on, that would be great. I am going to keep the Swim and Run Shop in mind for next time!

Wal-Mart used to carry them, but not sure if they still do. Maybe check to see if Kohl's and/or Ross does. I know they have maternity clothes, but didn't find it out until after I didn't need them anymore.
