I had the same problem, no energy. I do not suggest taking those weight loss pills. You didn't take pills to make you gain weight, don't take them to help you lose it. Here is what I did starting in October 2010 and as of today I have lost 35 pounds without changing my diet.
I would wake up and immediately lay in the floor and do 20 sit ups and 20 crunches. Took a shower, ate breakfast with the kids, etc. The only time I have to actually work out is after the kids are asleep at night. So at 8pm I put the kids to bed and I pop in my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and do my work out. When I first started I did level 1 for 3 days, then a day break, then level 2 for 3 days, a day break, and then level 3 for 3 days. Now I do 2 levels at a time and I mix it up. It's amazing. If it works for someone as over weight as I am then I know it will work for you. When I started working out I was 234 pounds and I weighed in today at 199. Good Luck

oh girl! do i totally know how you feel! as crazy as it sounds there are a couple things you need to do.
1) get yourself a GOOD multi-vitamin. the over the counter stuff at wal-mart is not good for you. actually, about 80% of that stuff you are just going to pee out. it can absorb to your body. I buy mine online and they are WELL worth it. you dont have to buy what i do obviously, but if you want the info feel free to message me.
2) start a routine. It sounds silly, but it works! if you start a habit that is part of your everyday than it will come naturally. My son is a major PITA at bed time. he refuses to go to sleep alone in his room. So i have my own little work out set up in his room. I get him all snuggly in bed, turn out the bedroom light and leave on the hall and then i turn on mymp3 player and i do step ups on a step stool, squats, lunges, i dance, do crunches, do sit-ups, wall push-ups, i even have some light hand weights in there that i do some arm curls, back curls and butterfly presses with!
3) make sure that you are taking fiber. I get these little fiber packets that i can tear open for a single serving and mix it with pine-apple juice or orange juice. sometimes i even throw it in a blender with a banana and make a smoothie!
4) keep your eating in check! really pay attention to what is going in!

You just have to do it. Pick a day, and at breakfast eat healthy, and than at lunch, make a good choice, and than keep it going, one meal at a time, one day at a time. Do not focus on the 50 pounds, simply focus on this day, this meal, this moment in time.

There are a ton of ideas on ways to lose weight, of course the best is probably just downsizing portions and increasing exercise, but I had and have a hard time with that because it takes a long time to see results and is just hard. I have tried every diet in the world, the last one I lost 60 pounds was Smart for Life, it is easy if you can handle to "cookies" or fiber bars. I order it on line. You eat one every 2-3 hours, I ate 5 oz lean protein at lunch and 5 oz. lean protein and veggies for dinner. VERY easy, worked quickly. The only problem is making sure you do something else when you are done so you don't gain it all back, like following weight watchers or really limiting your intake. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Can you find time to walk during your lunchtime? If you can walk at a brisk pace for 30 minutes even a few times a week, you will soon notice a big difference. We just got a dog, so I am forced to walk in all weathers and have been amazed at how much better I feel a look.

Start Small!!!! Can you eliminate foods from your list that are not working for you one food at a time? I am going to start small. My plan is to follow the Belly Fat cure recipes as much as possible which includes elimanting the sugar. I plan to walk 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes when i get home from work on the treadmill. I am going to purchase a yoga tape and do that at home. My plan is to find one of the churches in my area and do aerobics.

I'm in a similar boat... single mom, work full time, in school part time... no energy! I have about 20 lbs I want to lose. When I have the time, I tend to be a very active person, but once you get into the habit of "chilling out" after work for a "few minutes", which turn into the whole night... it is hard to get started again. I think you just have to realize that this is something that will be good for your health and will in turn give you more energy to play with your kiddo. I just got a WII & WII Fit, and if it's in your budget, I would highly recommend it... I go home excited to work out because a lot of the activities are games also. I put my kiddo to bed, and "work out" for an hour or so... I burned off 200 calories last night having a few snowball fights, hula hooping and snow skiing :-)
Another option... just do some pilates or yoga poses for 10-15 minutes in the evening. (Youtube has free videos - or Fitness's website has activities you can do at home)

In the beginning I told myself I only have to exercise for 10 minutes then I can stop. After all, who doesn't have just 10 minutes. The truth is though once I started I could always go at least another 10 minutes if not 20. Next thing you know it is a habit and you crave to do it. You do however have to find something you like. I for example hate, really hate my exercise bike. I love my DDR though! Jillian Michaels was unfortunately to hard on my aging knees. Lol.
good luck with what ever you do.

do you drink a lot of caffeine? If so , start cutting it out. Drink LOTS OF WATER. Take a multi-vitamin and omega 3's. Take short walks during the day or do short bursts of exercise, 20 minutes at a time, 3 x a day is all it takes. Limit snacks, processed foods and eat lean protein, whole grains, lots of fruits and veggies. Its ok to treat yourself, but don't make it a regular thing. Just focus on being as healthy and as active as you can. Weight Watchers has a new plan! I am tired ALL THE TIME too. I work full time and try to follow the advice I just gave you but its not easy! I am trying to focus on being active throughout the day rather than trying to fit one full hour of exercise in. I have about 10 - 15 pounds to lose and I KNOW when I lose it I will feel more energized and just overall better about myself. My son is 3.5 and I am TIRED too - I feel like I sleep more than ever since he was born, but I think its just that for almost 4 years, I have been running on fumes and the body just can't keep operating like that!

Try a liquid multivitamin and/or liquid B-complex vitamins. They can give you loads of added energy. Keep your routine simple and incorporated into your regular way of living. Examples: Park farther away in the lot. Those few extra steps count. Take the stairs at least one flight up instead of the elevator. Use a gallon jug or water bottle for repeated lifting. About 5-10 reps per arm. you can build up from there.

Dancing is great. I love doing simple jumping jacks or jumping with a jump rope for a few minutes. I can get it in right before I shower for about 5-10 minutes or 25 jumping jacks to get my body going.

Another miraculous weight loss self discovery is eating a balanced diet and reducing my portions. I just switched to a smaller sized plate. Made certain I could always see the bottom of the plate while increasing my vegetable and fruit portions and reducing my meat and starch portions. This helps too. I still am looking for an overweight vegetarian. Having found one yet.

Just doing these few simple things consistently will really get your metabolism going and help you shed the pounds.

Last tip: find some really healthy things to snack on. I love fresh fruit and veggies like tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, apples, oranges, bananas, grapes and dried fruit like apricots, cranberries, etc. It is so very difficult because of how the body processes fruit and veggies to gain weight from them. Just remember to leave the fattening sauces and dips which you may be tempted to use to join these items off your plate and out of your mouth. They are delicious by themselves. Just find which combinations work for your taste buds. Food should be enjoyed and the body was made for moving.

I have about 25-30 pounds to loose but my hubby loves the curves the body fat is giving me. What's a girl to do?

When I had my kids many, many years ago, I was so tired too. I asked my doctor about it, but she only tested for anemia - I wasn't. So time went on and years later when I was still very tired - sleeping 10 hours at night, a 2 hour nap and always feeling exhausted, I went again. This time lots of tests, but still so tired! I finally went to the alternative doctor who was also a nutritionist. I found out that I was sensitive to many foods, and once I cut them out I was on my way to recovery. Today I sleep 8 to 9 hours a night, no nap, and I give 7 hour trainings on my feet for a living. Couldn't do that if I was still eating wheat (baked goods and pasta) and dairy (milk, yogurt).

So, you can try cutting out these foods and see how you feel. People are amazed and wonder what I live on - meat, vegetables, fruit, and rice. A very good diet. And it is one that my body doesn't have to rob all my energy to degest, either.

I wish you best of luck in this new year with your efforts to gain your life back!!

I have lost over 30lbs with Advocare in five months. I didn't even work out much at all either!!!! It's a nutritional base vitamin program. It's slow and not instant gratification like some others. But you want a slow healthy weight loss. You can start out with the cleanse which will clean your organs and start you out with a clean slate per say while putting in the good stuff back into your body. There is a pro-biotic in the cleanse. That is for 10 days...you are a little restricted on what types of food you can eat...but you can do anything for ten days!!! For energy there is a drink called Spark that actually replaced my coffee in the morning - which is amazing and crazy at the same time. For the vitamins there are three different formulas you can use. I like the one that has a little bit of everything - appetite control and energy. I did become a distributor for the discount.....it has really helped me out with my weight loss and I still have about 35 lbs more to go.......which I will do by Summer!!!!

Check out the website and read about it for sure. www.AdvoCare.com/10062907
