When Will __________ Go Back to Normal?!?!

This is baby #2, but I don't remember the time lines, or wanting so badly for EVERYTHING to go back to normal (on my body, that is). 4 weeks later: I'm still bleeding, I still look pregnant, my ab muscles still are sensative, I still have the dark line down my belly, I'M STILL FAT (Yeah, Yeah I know that one will take effort) -- but when will everything else go back to normal?!?! I just don't remember.

What can I do next?

Was back to a regular cycle within 2 months, got to 5lbs over baby weight quickly b/c of b-feeding. The last 5 came off shortly after weaning. Hips are a bit wider, "girls" are a bit smaller, feet are larger size, and the linea nigera is still faintly present at 10 months.

Not to worry, you will get there. The timing and end result though are a bit to do with genetics, luck and effort.

Congrats on new baby.

It took 9 months to put it on so give yourself a break. I was still bleeding 6 weeks after my second child so my doctor gave me something to stop the bleeding. My son died at 17 days old so I was dealing with still looking pregnant, bleeding and my milk came in yet my baby was gone. It was really difficult to say the least. Be patient.

Don't get discouraged. I had 8 children and am semi normal now except for age. :-) It takes time and people are all different. I was back to normal by 6 weeks with my second but my third and others all took much more time to get the stomach off. Just to give an example...my third child was so happy one day when I went in to get them in bed and she said, "Oh, you're having another baby!". I was NOT having another one but just recovering from one born not too much earlier. Just be patient and you will feel 'normal' again before too long.

It's harder to get back to normal with the second child because you have to take care of the first child too (and everything else if it's anything like my family :-)). The fact that you are still bleeding means that you are doing too much. You have a wound on the inside of your body that needs to heal. It's kinda like a large scab on your knee, if you keep bending it and using it too much it takes much longer to heal. Ask for some help if you can get it.
The dark line, unfortunately, will take about a year to completely go away. The extra weight--BREASTFEEDING! The greatest weight loss tool invented!
Give yourself a break-it's only been 4 weeks. Hang in there-we're rootin' for ya!

Bleeding where? I had a c-section with baby #2 and there was very minimal bleeding...not longer than a week though. I have yet to get a period...so why the extended bleeding. maybe you should call your doctor.

It takes FOREVER for that dark line to go away. With my first child, I was back to normal at his one year birthday. With my daughter, at 18 months, I'm still flabby and a couple of pounds overweight - but that is general fitness issues.

At four weeks, you should DEFINITELY not be beating yourself up about it.

Give yourself a break and enjoy your sweet baby.

Your bleeding all matters on how active you are, the more active you are the more/longer you will bleed.6-8 weeks

It took my neighbor 1 year to loose the 60lbs she put on and she has kept it off and looks great that witch. I have had 3 kids and only gained 30lbs with each pregnancy and lost 20 lbs right after birth. I also made sure I lost the remaining wait before I got pregnant witht he next child and I am not back to me and my last baby is 2.

It is different for everyone.
