At what point do you talk to a doctor about problems with getting pregnant?? My DH and I have different thoughts about this. I think lets go know find out what we can do and get PG, he thinks that we should wait for nature to take its coarse. Kinda on different ends of the spectrum. We are only 25 and 23 right now and it took us 7 months to get PG with DD #1 and we are now on month 6 of trying to get PG for #2. When would you look to see if everything was working correctly, or would you keep waiting and practicing :)

What can I do next?

I have fertilty problems to start with that I found out about earlier than when i started for a second child but the doctors would not prescribe Clomid to me till I had tried for at least a year. For me it was really hard I went months & months without ovulating but at the year mark my husband & I had given up all hope then I started feeling sick. We found out I had gotten pregnant.

It never hurts to consult with your obgyn. I have had my own issues and one tool I used/love is Fertility Friend . com
You can learn how to chart your cycle, temp, plan...ect. There are support groups. So much info. I still go on there even though I'm not ttc. I track my weightloss and post about other stuff. Hope that helps. Enjoy your baby dancing ;o)

It all depends on how open your doctor is. A friend of mine tried for almost a year to conceive, her doctor considered the fact that she had been on birth control for years and told her to wait it out. This was also her first pregnancy at 34! She is pregnant now, due in October. I wouldn't be worried, but if you are, go in for a consultation with your OBGYN. Good Luck!

I would talk to the dr now, you can go thru and do the work-up without your husband, that way if there are any problems you aren't waiting and waiting and then end up need intervention anyways. The dr. will tell you that it is normal for someone your age to take up to a year to concieve and they usually reccommend waiting the year if you are 35 or over they will tell you to seek help after 6 months. There is a good book called taking control of your fertility and that might help if you want to wait on seeing a dr. Good luck. p.s. what is a DH and a DD?

For my first child it took 9 months. Our seond child I started getting worried at about six months because I just was not concieving. I called my doctor and he said if you have one child it should be only six months of trying before ferilty. I waited four more months and then found out I was pregnant. Don't worry! keep trying for at least a year. Ferilty is expensive, nad can take a toll on your marriage. Good Luck.

Read the book Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. I learned a lot. I am 37, tried for 6 months before going to a fertility specialist. Nothing was wrong and two months later I was pregnant. The book helped me understand a lot about fertility, cycles, and timing. good luck.

I have a beautiful five yr old daughter and for the past two years my husband and I have been trying to conceive for a second. Finally after giving up we visited my OBGYN. This month was my first cycle on Clomid a fertility medicine to help me ovulate. The side effects for me personally were intense. Extreme emotions which noone in our household was prepared for experiencing. Next month at least we will all be more prepared if I need to repeat the cycle. Talk to your Dr. about clomid.

What is a DH and DD? As far as when to talk to your doctor I would say when ever you feel as though you should. I know some people who get pregnant as soon as they start to try and others that take several years but if you feel a Doctor could help then what do you have to lose. Good Luck.
