My (almost) 7 month old got her two bottom teeth in for Christmas and I haven't gotten any advice from anyone on when to start brushing her teeth or anything like that. I should probably start now right? Help!

There is something I got for my son, from my local Long's Drug store called 'Spiffies."
You can use it for babies and toddlers etc.
It cleans the teeth/gums, and also helps to prevent tooth decay etc.

Here is the link:

It's really great, and I use it in conjunction with regular tooth brushing, for my son, as an extra precaution.

Yes, you DO start cleaning the gums/teeth of a baby already, and it is recommended.
At this age, you don't have to use a brush and "brush" the teeth...but wipe/cleanse the teeth AND gums. My Dentist said even using a dampened washcloth and wiping the teeth with it is also an effective way of cleaning a baby's mouth.

All the best,
Susan

yes, start now! I switched from finger brushing (w/cloth or rubber finger tip) to a stage 1 toothbrush b/c OUCH! teeth hurt when they bite!

You can start with just a wet toothbrush, as the "trainer" toothpaste doesn't really do much. Then you can add the paste to make it more fun/flavorful and to be more like how mommy & daddy do it. I don't think I started paste till after a year old, and now I use such a small amount, I can barely see it.

We brush EVERY night as part of our bedtime routine, and sometimes in the morning too (at around 13months, my daughter occasionally wanted to brush at the same time as me).

There's really not a lot of "brushing" going on, but at the very least swiping over each tooth. Some days it's a battle, but I try to make a game of it and just be silly... saying "ahhhh" and smiling big.

Yu can use one of those fingertip toothbrushes. I remember just using a damp cloth until about 1 year, then used the toddler toothbrush and toothpaste.
