I would take her in as she is only two and it could be something serious. GL
My daughter has had a cough for 2 weeks now and it doesnt seem to be getting better. She kept me up a lot of the night having really bad coughing fits. Sometimes the cough sounds dry and other times it sounds productive. She doesn't have any other symptoms, no fever and the boogers she does have are running clear. I really hate to take her to the dr and expose her to a lot worst than she has. Is 2 weeks of a cough too long? I also don't hear any raspiness in her chest. Should i just take her or wait a bit longer?

Hi S., I say take her to the doc. My son had a cough for about that long, and we found out that he had Pneumonia. I am all for letting bodies work hard to heal themselves, but some things just need to be checked out when they persist that long.
I would definitely take her to the dr. I had what many people call "walking pneumonia" for 3 months. My symptoms were just like your daughter's. My lungs sounded clear, but I'd occasionally cough up phlegm and I didn't have a fever. They did a chest x-ray to discover it.
Good luck.
I am a fan of waiting - I don't take my kids as soon as they are sick with a cough or runny nose, but if it's still there after 2 weeks, it's probably time to take her in, especially if it's keeping her up at night. It can't hurt!
It seems like two weeks is about the point the Dr. likes to see them- if it's not gone by then, they have to consider if it's become bacterial. Of course, with her sinus mucous being clear it might be just allergies. But there's only one way to find out at this point! Good luck-
I would take her in. Last year I didn't do much about my daughters cough until it hit the week marek, then I took her in and found out it was walking pnuemonia! I had no clue, no fever really, I thought her lungs sounded clear. I felt like the worst mommy, but you just never know.
It could be seasonal allergies too, where the mucus runs down their throat and causes coughing. Try Benadryl to dry her nose up and see if that helps.
You never know, some viruses hang on for a long time but better safe then sorry! :) Good luck, hope it is nothing.
your daughter is only 2 - take her to the doctor - you need to rule out anything more serious. Worrying about her being exposed to something in the waiting room, while letting virus or bacteria grow in her lungs seems like a weird trade-off.
