I have heard Weds is the day to do it, as there is much more reservation activity on all the other days of the week.
Is there better time to buy airfare when you might get better prices?

It depends on where you are going and who you are flying.
I only deal directly with American and Southwest. I book flights at least weekly for hubby and I do our vacations as well.
21+ days out will always get a better price. When you are on AAir you can look at the tabs at the top of the page when you are quoted pricing which stats the lowest fares for flying out on a certain day. Southwest has a low fare finder feature.
Usually staying over on a Sat night will reduce fares as well.
Good luck and have fun!
hello!
if you know that you are going to be flying - try 3 months out. Best days to fly are Tuesday and Wednesday.
hope that helps!!! If you are traveling with kids - look for non-stop flights. It's much easier than lay-overs and stopping all the time - especially when they are 3-5 (are we there yet?)
The best days to buy airplane tickets are Tuesday night (midnight) or wednesday morning...that is when airlines usually lower prices. Try www.kayak.com it's good!
You can always search cheaptickets.com or expedia.com. I alwaysend up going with expedia because they are the same price...and I can choose my going and return flights myself. You should also look up southwest.com, depending on where you fly.
Good luck!
