H.1.
Just a few nights ago when I wanted morning to come soo badly so that I could take a home pregnancy test :)
I know, I know, a lot of you are thinking "I can ALWAYS sleep!" Well, I'm a champion sleeper myself, but I find myself getting so ramped up about the oddest things. A couple months ago, I couldn't sleep because I was so excited about some big yardwork project we were going to start. About six months ago, I couldn't sleep because I was excited about making homemade ravioli for the first time. I've always been this way...I remember when I was a kid, I couldn't sleep the night before "The Wizard of Oz" came on TV (remember, they would air it once a year and it was a big, special event? No VCR's back then!). Am I the only one? What gets you so excited (G-rated, I mean!) that you can't sleep?
Melissa J: I am exactly like that before a Disney trip!! And it is just like the commercial, isn't it?!:)

The night before my wedding, this past June :) I literally stared at the ceiling with a big stupid smile on my face the whole night. My husband finally brought me some unison to put me out! I needed my beauty rest, after all, the next day I was to be his blushing bride ;)
I couldn't sleep the night before the first day of school :) my 2nd grader was SO excited and that made me excited for him. I also have trouble the night before Easter, Christmas Eve, my kids' bdays, vacations. Pretty much any exciting event for our family.
Ugh. Every night. I find life very, very exciting almost all of the time and it's hard for me to fall asleep.
The night before we went to sign the papers for purchasing our home! What a long and emotional victory...
Probably pre-vacation night in July.
I was pretty 'alert' the night before school started, too.
About 3 or 4 years ago the night before we left to take the kids to Disney World for the first time. Yes, just like in the commercial.
Christmas. Even at 40 yrs old, I still get giddy over Christmas.
Rachel D! That was too funny!!
I'm with a lot of other Mamas that no matter how old I am I get SO excited for Christmas! There's a Garfield Christmas special where Jon is singing a song about Christmas and one line is, "The insomnia and anxiety kids get from having to wait! Can't wait til Christmas!"
I also agree with other moms that I can't sleep when I have something going on the next day I'm looking forward to. Unfortunately I am also one to have things on my mind that aren't as pleasant like if I had a bad confrontation that day or something. Then I can't sleep b/c I'm stewing about it and what I should've said or done!
Christmas Eve
Anytime we go on a big "out west" mountain snowmobile trip...which works well cuz we usually leave about 4/5am latest! I love snow!
Any time before a vacation - I run my mental packing list through my head over and over.
Always Christmas Eve, the day before Easter.
Anytime before we throw a big party - kids Bday etc.
And definetly before the first day back to school.
For me it's either pet projects...new pet, something I'm learning, or it's worries like some daycare parent is acting odd or stressed and I am trying to figure out if it's just them or if I've done something. I tend to play out conversations in my mind. I really wish I could break myself of that!
MMM Ok, first day of PreK for my son, this Sat we are moving so, probably Friday night. Any time I go for a flight or vacation. Well, basically probably once a month there is SOMETHING that will cause it to happen.
I'm the same way, basically right before any big event. The most recent ones are my daughter starting Kindergarten and before that it was the night before closing on our new house!
