I started when they were tiny. read short books, make funny sounds, funny faces.....and let her mouth and play with books on her own....enjoy! that is such a great age :)
My baby is 9 months old, and a silly silly girl. I started reading to her and she seemed to have interest, but only for a short period of time. I enjoy it but she starts playing and giggling, not sure if I'm doing any good at this young age. At what age did you start reading to your kids?

i read to them when i was preggy with them. they hear the sound of the voice.
That's okay if she will only listen for a little while. Just keep reading to her...during different ages she will react in different ways. Sounds like you are doing the right thing.
You can start reading to your child anytime.I know that it sound silly but my doctor told me to start reading to my 3 months old. I know she is young but i heard that it is good for her. That if you contunied to read to her it will pay of because she will love reading whe she get older.
You can never start too early. I started reading to mine when they were born. They didn't understand what I was saying but they still heard my voice. My mom read to us while she was carrying us and we both love to read to this day. I've read that it helps build their language skills as well as giving them an appreciation for reading later.
My twins are 17 months old and I will read to them as long as they will sit there. Once they get all wiggly, I let them down in their room but I'll still finish the story. I don't know if they are paying attention or not but I would want to hear the end of the story so I finish it for them. :o)
Happy reading!
