When Do They Out Grow the "Naked" Phase?

My wonderful little girl just turned 3 last month, and she thinks that everyone should be as naked as possible at all times. She got a new toddler Cinderella about a month ago, and the first thing she did was take off all of her clothes. Then, when she got Snow White to match for Thanksgiving, she brought her home and took off all of her clothes. My sister took her shopping on Thursday to buy presents for the donation bins, and of course she came home with a new toy. She got a Happy Family, and the first thing she did was take off all of their clothes (mommy, daddy, big sister, and even the little baby.).

She also takes off her clothes as much as she can. We let her run around with a bare bottom because she is potty training and is still learning the feel of panties and pull ups. She is getting better though. But, anyway, my question is, when does being naked lose its appeal? I don't really care so much, I am just curious. I know for boys its pretty much never, but not for girls its not.

What can I do next?

It fades when they become more self conscious.
For a lot of kids (boys and girls), this comes at about 4 yrs but it can vary by a few years and cultural expectations can affect this, too.
My son was done with it by 4 but a son of my friend liked stripping down to his underwear soon as he got home from school till he was in 3rd or 4th grade.
Dolls by the way - it's really VERY typical for all the clothes to come off all the dolls - for YEARS.
It's not at all related to personal comfort levels regarding nudity or modesty.
My Mom would ask us "Why should I buy more clothes for your dolls when you don't dress them in the clothes they have now?".

5---right in time for kindergarten. The more you can let her be naked and ignore the nakedness, the more the appeal will wear off. If you just matter-of-factly state : Savanna, you need to put your clothes on in 5 minutes. We have to go the store. I will set the timer-when it rings, please get dressed. Thank you! That usually helps. Good luck!

My dd is 6 and would still rather run around the house naked than in clothes! She has always hated clothing though...especially socks and underwear. Talk about a constant battle!

I'm still hoping she grows out of this naked phase...but for now, we are preparing ourselves for when she tells us she is going to live in a nudist community ;)
