We recently took our 3 year old to Kathleen Schroeder-she is a pediatric dentist in Crystal Lake ###-###-####. The staff was very friendly to my daughter and seemed like a great office. She was very comfortable there.
I remember people making postings in the Crystal Lake Algonquin area but i can't find the thread. Does anyone know a good pediatric dentist and when did you first bring your child... and what did they do? thanks

I took my five year old to the pediatric dentistry in Crystal Lake as we just moved here from WI. She gets very nervous, and the staff was a bit impatient. When doing x-rays the tech kept telling her that I would leave if she didn't calm down and she needed to stop acting like a four year old. We aren't going to go back as I was uncomfortable and we know from previous experience that you can get very patient pediatric dentists out there.
I take all my children to 1st Family Dental on rand rd in Arlington Heights. They are really great my 3 year old went and had no problems. She had her teeth cleaned plus a small cavity filled and didnt even cry. She will tell you she likes to go to the dentist. They were really great with my 6 year old who has special needs he too did great. I thought I would never be able to take him to the dentist. I totally recomend them to everybody.
Unless there is a problem, a dentist doesn't want to see your child until they are 3 years old. They will just check and count the teeth and give them a quick polish if needed.
My pediatric dentist is AWESOME. Dr. Doug Janis in Geneva.
Godd Luck!
I first took my son at 18 months to Dr. Anthony Minitullo at Crystal Lake Pediatric Dental

we just did a basic exam to confirm that everything was ok cause I had some concerns about white spots on his teeth. I stayed with him and the dentist showed me how with two people we could lay him down straddling me so that he could get a good look in his mouth. It was painless and he got a little toy.
I HIGHLY reccomend Crystal Lake Pediatriac Dental!! I took my older son there for the first time right before he turned 5, and my 3 year old right before he turned 3. If they are under 3, the parent usually goes back with them, over 3 they take them back alone.
My son was almost 3, so they attempted taking him back alone, but had me prepare to come back there. They were only planning on looking at his teeth, but he actually let them do the full cleaning! My boys look forward to going to the dentist now!! Here is their web address:

Hello S.,
I took my son in for his first Dental visit a month ago and he is 4 years old. They say you should take them in at age 3 I believe. Anyway, I went to Crystal Lake Pediatric Dental on Route 176. I am in McHenry and it was the closes one that I found that was just for kids. They were very nice there.
Take care,
S. T.
