honestly, this all depends on how you feel about it, how your child is doing in the crib (getting too big for it? trying to climb out?) AND it has to do with your living situation. if you don't mind that she is still in the crib, and as long as she still fits, and doesn't climb out, then there is no reason to put her in a toddler bed if you don't want to. i wanted to put my daughter in a toddler bed when she turned 1, like a friend of mine did (and her son slept much better once he was in the bed instead of a crib). the only problem that i have is that i share a room with my daughter and i don't want her getting into stuff while i'm sleeping, plus we live in the basement, and don't have a regular door on our bedroom, so she can easily push open the door, and i don't want her climbing on the couches and getting hurt while we're sleeping. my friend's son has his own bedroom, and it's completely baby safe! so when he turned 1, they got rid of the crib and put him in one of those car beds (no railing, but it's pushed up against the wall) and just puts up the baby gate so he can easily see out, yet not roam the apartment while they are sleeping. so, if you want to keep her in there for another couple of months, or even another yr, i don't see a problem in that (we may have to keep our daughter in the crib until she's 3 if we can't build another room for her.) and if you decide to get her a bed, just make your life easier, put up a baby gate in the doorway so you can keep her door open and have the peace of mind knowing she's safe! good luck, i hear it's a very easy transition!
