When Did You Feel the Baby Move?

Hi, I'm almost 20 weeks and I don't think I've felt the baby move yet. I thought I did once right around 14 weeks when I was leaning forward on the couch and kind of squishing my lower belly against my waistband but nothing since. I had my level 2 ultrasound last week and the technician said that the baby still has plenty of room in there to move around so I shouldn't expect to feel him for a few more weeks but I'm getting impatient! :) When did you first feel it?

What can I do next?

My first pregnancy, I was 24 weeks- most of my friends it was by 20 though. My second one was much earlier, like 11 weeks inconsistently, 14 weeks consistently. I'm only 10 weeks so haven't felt the third yet.

i think a lot of people associate feeling bubbles moving around with the baby, I think you get more gas, and all of your organs are readjusting so your stomach plays games on you, and it feels like a baby is moving at first...I only know this because after I miscarried I still felt those same movements after as I did beforehand

Depends on the baby. With my first I think I felt her move 2-3 times the entire pregnancy. Apparently my placenta was in front of her, so She would have to kick insanely hard for me to feel it in my belly.
It got to the point that we were going in weekly for heartbeat checks by about 27 weeks to make sure she was doing okay. She is now an insanely active 2.5 year old!! I think she was just resting up on the inside.

With my second daughter I swear I felt her at about 11 weeks and it just kept getting stronger and more frequent from there, she was a wild woman. She is now 4 months old and just the calmest, most content, happiest baby I have ever seen in my life. She still moves around a good bit,and will already roll tummy to back and back to tummy and scoot around the floor. Buit she is sooooooo happy all the time it is amazign!

With my firstborn, I felt a little flutter at about 24 weeks - I wasn't sure if it was him or not at the time, but I hoped it was. 3 days later I woke up with him kicking so hard you could actually see my belly bouncing up and down. After that, he rarely stopped. With my second, I felt her at about 20 weeks. I'm not a big person - 5'2' - 130 lbs., so it's not that I was carrying around a bunch of extra weight that I couldn't feel it. I think birth order and how you are carrying really dictates when and how much you will feel. I remember being on pins and needles waiting to feel that first movement. It seemed like it took forever! Hang in there!

I don't think I felt it consistently until about 18 or 20 weeks. Everyone is different - position of baby has a lot to do with it. A friend of mine only felt hers move a few times because of the position.

I think with my first it was closer to 20 weeks when I knew for sure that it was the baby and not gas. And it was about a week after that that my husband was able to feel her kicking up a storm. I am currently 11 weeks along and I swear there have been a few times late at night when Im laying there and really low down I feel that familiar feeling. Its not strong at all and for sure I wouldnt notice it if I hadnt already had a baby but Im almost positive that its my little one moving around in there
Congrats on your baby and when you confirm for sure that its your baby squirming around in there you will have a permanant smile on your face for the next 24 hrs at least. Its such a great feeling =)

I felt baby first move around 14 weeks. I'm a little on the thin side and I hear that may be why I felt it sooo early. Some people think I'm crazy, but I know I felt it. I didn't stop feeling her move from that point on. It just got stronger and stronger. She was so active inside me--she would keep me up at night. And she's still the same way at 16-months!!
At first it feels like little butterflies fluttering around. Most people feel their first kick/movement around 20-24 weeks, so you'll feel it soon! It's the best feeling in the world! :)

With my firstborn, I felt it first at 14 weeks and became stronger around 21-22 weeks after that. With this baby, I felt first movement around 11-12 weeks (no joke) and it's getting stronger and stronger and I'm at 22.1 weeks today.

I was a bit on the skinny side with my first one (~130lbs @ 5'5") and felt baby around 17/18 weeks, daily after 20 weeks. My second one I started feeling at 14 weeks. My third one I felt off and on at 10 weeks but ONLY in the lower left side because of how his placenta was placed. When you go in for your next ultrasound find out where the placenta is because if its between baby and you're belly in the front (as opposed the back which would "cushion" your intestines and such) you might find it nearly impossible to feel baby everyday.

I know with my SIL who is heavyset weight wise didn't feel her first until 22 weeks.

One of my favorite tricks for getting my second one to move (we had non stress tests because of bleeding @16w - twice a week through the second half of the pregnancy) was to drink a pepsi/coke and eat a candy bar. The sheer sugar rush and bit of caffeine was usually enough to get him "dancing" or into gymnastics in there! Not sure if it will make a difference for you at the moment, but maybe you will feel something with the extra bit of activity.

And the first movements I always felt were kinda like holding a bag of water with a goldfish that was almost too big for the bag. So its the flutter feeling like a tail fin... that the best way i could describe it that makes any sence.

Grats on the little on!
