My family and I are moving to the Wheaton area at the end of the month and I am wondering if there are any playgroups nearby. I have a 7 mo. old son and we would love to meet some new people. I work full-time, so something in the evening or on the weekends would be best. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Check out this group

It's free and we have a lot of Wheaton moms and moms with lil ones. Best yet most of us are working moms so get togethers are on the weekends or weeknights most of the time.

Hey there! By any chance are you looking for a nanny when your family moves to Wheaton? I'm looking for a full time nanny job. I have ten years experience. I could email you a little bit about myself along with my resume! Please let me know! Thank you and God bless you and your family!

Good Samaritian Hospital has a New Moms Suport Group that meets every Tuesday at 10am. It is very casual and babies stay in it until they are about 10 or 11 months old at which time they move to the Crawlers group which meets the first Tuesday of every month at 11:30am. Both groups meet at the Good Samaritian Hospital Wellness Center and it's a great way to meet new moms. It is like a play group really and free and when your babies get older and go to the Crawlers group the moms usually get together and form playgroups. Again, it is very casual, moms come and go during the entire time because we are all new at this! Babies are unpredictable! It is in Downers Grove just south of Hwy 88 at the Highland Ave. exit.

I love this group- we do all sorts of fun things around the area like meet for museum trips, go to local parks, etc. Most things are free. Sometimes we plan events at each other homes like cookouts, theme parties (we recently had a "messy party" where the kids played in pudding, etc.)

Everyone is really nice and it's free for 30 days and then she asks that you pay $12/yr to help with supplies, etc for parties and maintaining the online boards:

PS- Most of the kids in the group are babies/toddlers, so events are geared toward the younger ones. We do have a couple of "older" kids in the 6-7 yr range too.
