Lately, whenever I stand up I feel like Im going to pass out. I get really dizzy. Today was pretty bad though, when I got up things kind of went fuzzy, my head was tingling, then I felt pressure in my head when the tingling went away. And I felt like my body was jiggling. It was really weird, and I couldnt really see that good. Gosh, now that Im typing this it sounds pretty bad. Any ideas?

I had a c-section 4 weeks ago if that counts.

So What Happened?

Dammmit, I called the doc and they want to see me today. I will keep you posted. :(

My doc ordered blood work to check for low iron. If thats not it, they are sending me to a neurologist. :( Lovely.

Its my thyroid

Dehydration or low blood sugar.
Those would be my two guesses, but as you just had a c-section, definitely go to the doctor.
You need more food and water from the sounds of things, to me.

Hope you feel better.

there are many ideas...

I would personally call 911 if I was home alone and it happened again.

low blood pressure causes dizziness
ear infections
vestibular neuritis (I have this and it's horrible)
if your body felt jiggly - i hope to God you didn't have a petite seizure...

GO TO THE DOCTOR NOW!!!!

***Neurocardiogenic Syncope*** Ask your doctor about this. Our daughter has this and it is not uncommon. When you stand up your blood pressure is dropping and causing lack of oxygen to your brain for a short period of time. Let me know what you find out! :)

I had this happen (though not as bad) after my second baby. Went and got completely checked out so they could rule out any neuro, blood pressure, ear/sinus infection, etc problems. It turned out that I wasn't eating or drinking nearly enough to support healing, nursing and plain ol' me. Get in and get checked out and try to drink well and eat well.

You are probably anemic or experiencing low blood sugar -you could even be hypoglycemic. Eat lots of lean protein and get checked out by your doctor.

Could you be dehydrated? if your breastfeeding you need more liquids. Are you drinking enough? could you be anemic? are you eating iron rich food and or taking a vitamin? If you dont think it's dehydration than make an apt. with Dr.

That happened to me a few weeks ago (6 months preg) and the doctor decided it was dehydration. It is easy to check for... your urine should be almost clear, if it is not, you are dehydrated.

I agree with the others that you should call your doctor and get their opinion first thing.

Call your doctor. It could be a number of different things. Let the nurse decide whether or not you should be seen immediately. Yes, there could be a serious cause that needs immediate attention. Only a medical person who has your history would know how serious this might be.

That happened to me right before I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation, but you would notice if that was it because your heart would be fluttering too.

That also happened to me when I had a bad sinus infection/ear infection.

Could be a vitamin deficiency too, you are breast feeding also right? I'm sure you're taking supplements though.

I don't know Molly but you better call the doc, or else I'll worry about you!!

Usually if I don't get enough good food that will happen. Another thing is just I get up too quick. It feels like if you would bend down and touch your toes and then whip your head upright. When I breathe through my nose it has that smell of just sucking in water, spots in my eyes.....yeah doctor said don't starve yourself.

I hope that is all it is.

Oh the other thing that makes it worse is when my allergies go bezirk!

Call your doctor. They will want to know about any changes you're experiencing, and honestly it could be any number of things causing this, like blood pressure, blood sugar, infection, etc. It's impossible for us to diagnose you, though, and with your recent history of a c-section, you really need to be checked out by a doctor.

Hi Molly:

Good luck at your appointment today. I have low iron as well. I just take an extra iron supplement and seem to get along alright with it. Somedays I have to take 2 if I am not feeling "right". You doc will probably tell you this if you do have low iron but don't take your iron pill at the same time you take your daily vitamin b/c the irons can not be absorbed all at once. Good luck!

Molly - this has happened to me the entire time I have been nursing my son (going on 8 months). It will even happen to me not just upon standing, but after I have been standing for a short time as well. I try to increase my calories and my water intake, nothing seems to help. I wish you luck and let us know what the doc says!

Sorry for late response, but was traveling. I hope you're feeling better by now and have seen a dr. I'm wondering if it's something from your c-section and you're not resting enough or if it's Vertigo. Regardless, please see a doctor. I'm sure eveyone on here gave you great resonses. Feel better.
