Whats Happening!?

hello moms,

Something is concerning me and i could really use everyones advise. My boyfriend and i were sexually active November 7th and i had my menstration nov 17th. now its at the end of december and i haven't had a period for the whole month. Im not irregular, and i haven't had any change in diet mood or had any kind of stress. I know most of you are gunna say wait a couple weeks take a test and so on but im just baffled at this. i just don't see how i could be prego. kinda worries me that there is some other underlined issue going on. has anyone experiance this?

for those who are curious, i don't think im pregnant because last time i had any sexual intercourse was November 7th and i menstrated on nov 17th. in my medical courses in college you cannot be pregnant and get a period. you only spot, but don't bleed like a period. I had neither, so therefore pregnancy was not my first guess. I also never stated but that there is female organ problems in my family. My sister died of a tumor that squeezed the life out of her and it started forming in her female organs. My other sister got a pap done that game back positive and ended up having to get cells scraped out of her uterus and was unable to concieve a child until most recently she was blessed with a child "miracle baby". So therefore this is why i bring up concern that its something more. No contraceptive is being used. Im not trying to prevent a child. It would be a blessing.

What can I do next?

I'd probably take a test just to be certain, BUT a few years ago my periods started getting all wonky and when I finally went to the doc, he kind of chuckled and just told me that 'normal' is abnormal and I should consider myself lucky they had been so normal (regular) up til now.

I got 1 period with both of my pregnancies so the fact that you still menstruated in November absolutely DOES NOT mean that you aren't pregnant. Just take a test, no need to wait any longer as you're already almost 2 weeks late. If it comes back negative then give your GYN a call.

There's a really simple way to avoid an planned pregnancy: birth control.

I realize you are worried about some "underlying" issue (a visit to your OB/GYN can put all of those fears to rest), but I think what I, personally, would find more stressful and upsetting would be an unplanned pregnancy.

Please don't allow this to happen again with a "boyfriend". Get on some reliable birth control asap.

Good luck to you!

It doesn't seem too early at all to take a test now so go get one and know for sure. No point in wondering. You don't mention if you used birth control or not but for people saying the simple way to avoid pregnancy is birth control, not always! I got pregnant with birth control and so did a friend. She was even on the pill! And I don't think you were looking for advice on how to avoid getting pregnant but more wondering what is going on. So, it's easy to eliminate or confirm one possible cause, get a test... Good luck either way!

If you are having sex and not wanting to get pregnant you are probably stressed. Sex = Getting pregnant whether you want a baby or not in most cases.
If your period should have been on Dec 17th, I'd take the test and see. Sounds like you could be pregnant to me.

Sometimes AF can just be a weirdo. After my husband and I started actively trying, that same month, my period was randomly 5 days late. I kept getting negative PT's and was freaking out (wanting to be PG, getting negs, no period). In that 'late' time though, I read about every website that said your body just might be having a hiccup, or it's stress, or whatever. Just take a test, end your stress, and AF will prolly show up the next day. Best wishes!!

You can still get a period while pregnant. I have a friend who had hers for 6 months and was pregnant!!!
You should take a test. I took a test about 4 weeks after becoming pregnant and it came out positive. Its definitely not too soon.

M.E., hon, you said you don't see how you could be pregnant so please update the post and let us know whether you used contraceptive or not - just curious.

Your cycle can become irregular just 'cause, but things can also change if you are stressed about school, work, tensions in relationships, etc. Your diet might also have a lot to do with it. Either way, it sounds like a trip to your doctor is in order - pregnant or not.

i would go ahead and take the test to make sure. have you been sick or had any vaccinations or anything recently? those can delay your period and so can stress or sometimes it just does weird things for no reason.

Take the test. I didn't find out the I was pregnant until the 3rd month. I had no morning sickness but in my 3rd month my breast starting hurting and growing. Then I found out that all the women in my family didn't get any signs until 3 month or later! Take the test.
