Right at this moment, with a total lack of logical perspective, I'd say my son. I'd wait 16 years to open it. He'd be twenty and then he could move out.:)

(We just had to leave a restaurant because he threw a piece of food at my husband. I'm pretty sure my middle name is now "I **WILL** take you out of there." I have also had two screaming 'crocodile tears' tantrums since he's been home. Now he's "hungry". Fun fun fun.)

And I love that your husband laughs at his own puns.

My kids first hair clippings..I washed their hair with johnsons old school shampoo. I let it sit longer on their heads, when washing. Then I did first hair cuts and saved the trimming in a baggie. It still to this day smells like them.

Wedding pictures. My bible(I would put my one I have now..and get new one:))
My mom and dads pictures. My sister and her families photos. My little sister and I goofing off. I big piece of my blankie I still sleep with. My favorite candles. My best friend has this knack for making amazing mixed CD's. So I would throw in there a copy of every single one. He is my door way into new and odd music. And it is how we are so connected. I would have to have every note my Girl best friend and i every wrote to one another. We still have copies..each of us. We had journals that we would pass off to each other to add notes. We will trade them every once and awhile and read them again. It is good to remember why we feel in love with each other. She is my soul sister. I would have her sons photos and what not too. he is my ''nephew'' at heart.

also a twinkie yum...I would die from it though
And one penny, nickel, dime, quarter, dollar, five, ten, twenty and hundred from the year I locked it all up!!

Ah...I love these questions. It makes me take the time, to stop and think about what amazing gifts I have and what I cherish most!!! Good way to end a beautiful Washington day!!!!

Hugs Hazel... He will sleep it off and be fresh for tomorrow:) Hang in there mama!!

I guess it depends on what it's for. A lot of people make time capsules for their kids, but that contains things that are relevant to the kids, not to mom. If it's for you to dig up and look at in 40 years, I'd say today's newspaper, one of today's dollar bills, a photo of yourself from today, your favorite lipstick, the ticket stub from the most recent movie/concert/show you've seen.

We buried a time capsule in our back yard a few years ago, and we're digging it up during Chirstmas break when my oldest son is a senior in high school. He's in 7th grade now. Each of us put a couple of things in it. I put in a rosary and a then current family photo. My husband put in his favorite watch and a book. My oldest son put in a toy robot and the novel, War of the Worlds. My youngest son put in a toy dumptruck and a board book. I think we put in a few other things, but I can't remember what they were.

Alot depends on what the purpose of the time capule is for and when and who will be opening it.

My teen daughters just made time capules with some young first grade girls, for them to open in a few years. They drew a picture of their family and wrote down things like favorite color, friends names, favorite tv show.

Our family made one a few years ago, it's in our basement to be opened when my girls graduate college. To the best of my memory, we put in some family photos, expired season tickets to a local amusement park, a picture of our house, drawings the girls made, vacation brochures.

As for your list..
newspaper or just a few articles
a picture of your house
the wrapper from your favorite candy or other food
one of your kids favorite small toys or trinket - like those silly bands
picture of your car
an old cell phone
something in your own hand writing
