Any idea on how much money would be appropriate to pay a college girl for staying with our 2-year-old son for 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, etc.?

Thank you so much!!!

What can I do next?

Well, I usually pay around $4-8 per hour depending on what needs to be done. Our oldest babysitter is 18 and I usually give her $40 for 8 hours (of which our 3 year old daughter is sleeping probably 6 out of the 8 hours). I'd say $125-150 per day would be good as long as he sleeps through the night and maybe throw in a little extra for food or gas expenses if they plan on going anywhere.

I hope that you can trust her and that she is certified CPR.Well let's say that she is,what normal pay when it is 24 hours is from whenever she start like 8 am to 8 pm is what you should pay her like 15 to 20 an hour. The kids is sleeping by 8 pm so you will round up the pay of those remaining hours to like 50 bucks. She will need to sleep too so that is reasonable. But if it's for like 72 hours you would do a rate like 300 to 450.Then again make sure you can trust her cuz college girls are never my 1st choice.Hope this help.

When my kids stay overnight at daycare it is 40 per 8 hour shift. I luck out because they usually go to school for part of that but if they didn't then it would be 120 for 24 hours 240 for 48 hours 360 for 72 hours. It's in your home so remember to buy extra food. good luck

wow, babysitting is much cheaper here. I pay my sitter typically $5/hr for my two kids. I want someone that is more interested in my kids then the money. That said, for one kid if you're breaking it down by the hour I'd say $5-10/hr(since she'll have to feed all meals and all the extras). Unless he's one that wakes up much, then you might want to pay more for dealing with the middle of the night work.

We just had a sitter help us at nap time during a wedding and then later in the evening. She watched a total of 7hrs and we gave her $100. She thought it was an incredible pay, and it was worth it to us. We gave her more though because she did dress changes, and brought the kids from hotel to hall..she really went all out. Good luck, that's a hard rate to determine. If she's the type that is going to play with them all day and keep them occupied, I'd pay more. If she's going to sit on her butt and text her friends all day/night I'd pay less, (actually I wouldn't use her then). :)

I am assuming since you are considering leaving your 2yr old with her you trust her completely. So that's worth a lot. But does she know Child CPR. Does she have any training as far as taking care of kids (studying to be pre school teacher, something like that?) In my area (monmouth county NJ) for someone who is totally qualified and has background check etc, gets between $15-$20. per hour. But for extended hours I would pay btwn $12-$17. per hour. Hope this helps.
