My childs teacher actually sent us a "school tube" video of her reading "The night before Kindergarten" along with another video about herself and what she enjoys doing and why she just loves teaching Kindergarten. So after my child watched this video, she got to school the next morning for the first day and the teacher had big hugs waiting for all the kids. She got down on each of their levels, stared them in their eyes and welcomed each one to the class. She also had learned all the kids most favorite color on "back to school night" a few days prior and so when my daughter sat down, her favorite color of play-dough was waiting for her to play with. It's the little things that count and I know my daughter is in a fantastic class with an amazing teacher. She comes home to play, "kindergarten" with her baby sister, it's awesome, a true sign and compliment to a great teacher who truly loves her job and students:)

My sons kindergarten "chased" the gingerbread man through the school. In order to show the kiddos around they pretended that they were chasing the gingerbread man and followed the "crumbs" that he left behind. They visited the principle, the music teacher, the library, etc. Then they had gingerbread men for a snack. My son loved it.

Just as I was leaving the room on the first day, I heard the teacher gasp loudly. It really startled me and all the children. Then she said, "I just can't believe it! I can already tell you are going to be the very best class I have ever had!"
Whenever I would go to the school, you could hear the other kindergarten classes all the way down the hall. But her room was always calm and on task. I am so thankful my son had her. He was barely five and I wasn't sure it was the right thing to go ahead and send him. She made it a wonderful year.

My son's teacher gave the mother's gifts...it was a ziplock bag with a tea bag, cotton ball, and tissues..and there was a poem about after you finish crying making yourself the tea and hold the cotton ball and the softness will remind you of your child....and that was just the start of all the thoughtful special things she did for the kids and parents through the year! She also makes an outstanding memory book through every, and I mean EVERY event through the year.

Was very welcoming & introduced herself to each and every child
Showed us where our cubby would be
Gave each child a sticker that would be "their own sticker for all of their
items".....ex. peach, race car
