We have decided to have his birthday at Gymboree. So, I am not sure if I should provide snacks or a full lunch for everyone. About 5 of the kids attending are ages 3 -5 and the other 9 kids are all ages 1 or under. Then I'll have about 25-30 adults there too.
Any ideas of what types of foods I can offer that will be good for the adults and most importantly safe for the kids?
Thanks!
celebrations in my family always mean a time for EATING. but it does depend on the time of day you're going to have the party. if it's during lunch time, then people often expect to eat. if it's in the mid after noon, snacks would be acceptable too, but there's nothing wrong with serving a full meal.
making it adult and kid friendly can be a little challenging. chicken nuggets or macaroni and cheese are usually good kid pleasers along with pizza. adults won't complain if there's nothing else available.
cut up fruit is a good one. diced strawberries, melon, etc. that toddlers can eat as well. mandarin oranges work well too.
cheese (make it simple and buy string cheese and cut it up in cubes--cut the long strip into 4's lengthwise, then slice, like dicing a hotdog)
cheerios, gold fish snacks, etc.
good luck
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They are easy to make and a nice little snack. Cut them up into 4 pieces to make them more of a finger food.
Well, you can never go wrong with pizza! Everyone loves pizza and that would be ok or 1 year old...well depending on their level/teeth. You could get breadsticks for them..they could gnaw on them and maybe some unsweetened apple sauce or yogurt.
I served hotdogs, and finger foods, carrots, toddler foods.
Salad and pasta for the adults and yes pizza is always perfect. Just of course as you said safe foods. Think of snacks you give your 1 year old.
My sons 1st birthday was the 1st time he had cake or almost any sweets.
