I have been googling until my eyeballs have crossed. can anyone here recommend one and tell my why they like it? I trust real mom's more than consumer review.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

good advice to ask the orthodontist. although i would have thought they would have suggested that at the beginning.

also i was wondering which type was easier to use, the traditional one that sits on the counter and you need to fill up the resivour or the one that hooks on the faucet?

I use the cordless Water Pic. User can decide how much pressure to use. It's easy to use.

I'm a hygienist and I see kids in braces everyday. Get him a soniccare toothbrush and a waterpik with a reservoir. I will put money on the fact that he will use his soniccare every day, and use the waterpik only when you nag him. Get him some proxabrushes too, they are good for brushing around the brackets.

And yes, the orthodontist should be sending your child for a cleaning every siz months, at that time the hygienist will tell them how to keep their braces clean

I always trusted my dentist with these sorts of questions.

ETA: mine had the water reservoir you fill up. I used a mix of water and listerine. Loved that mix for freshness!

When I wore braces years ago, my dentist gave me a Water Pic. I loved that little machine because it helped me keep everything cleaner while wearing braces.

I also used it for a long time after braces as well. I know there are better models out now.

I consult my dentist for recommendations. I bought my Sonicare toothbrush system from my dentist.

The best one is which ever one he'll actually use.
This will vary a lot from individual to individual.
We like the Plackers Twin Line Dental Flossers.
We all use them and they're great!

I would take your teen (or sit with them at your browser) and ask them which ones they like. If you want them to use it, I find it helps to consult them about their opinions.
